Funny stuff

Post by greg parker on Tue 15 Jan 2013, 11:14 am

Craig Lamson at the Ed Forum:
Tell us jimbo, you think anyone had duck hunting in mind when they wrote the 2nd [Amendment]? Or tyrannical governments run amok?

To which John Dolva eventually replied:
The US has a Tyrannical Government that is running amok.

Lamson's comeback?
I would not dispute that for a second. Our government is a complete mess.

Okay. Got it.

( 1 ) The 2nd Amendment was designed to allow the people to take down, or defend against, by force, a tyrannical, corrupt government.

( 2 )The current government is tyrannical and corrupt.

I guess we can expect Lamson to lead the coup any day now... affraid

I would like to know though, why Lamson made the above statements - but has been otherwise busy defending his right to keep arms - not to defend himself from the government, but to defend against home invasion. Which is it Craig? I'm betting the writers of the amendment did not have BOTH those purposes in mind.

I've noticed a marked improvement in the tone of the forum over the past few days, haven't you?

The new scrolling banner should be sufficient to let everyone know what kind of place this is, but if some folks still don't quite get the message, here's a pop up for the admins and moderators to consider using in the future as appropriate:

Fascist! Laughing

Too funny, Stan.  A tip of the hat to you, Sir.

I went to buy a new TV a few weeks ago.  I'd researched the hell out of it.  I knew every pro and con and could compare it (pro and con) to every other TV in its class and price.

I was quickly accosted by a "expert salesman" who had TV Sales Expert Barry written on his badge as I stood in front of the one I wanted.

Here is how it started:

"After a TV, Sir."

"Maybe."

"Do you know what type you want?"

"Yes."

"Do you know what colour and size."

"We'll get to that later but first I want you to show me your plasmas that successfully upscales an interpolated standard definition picture to high definition 1080p or interpolated running content originally designed for 60Hz broadcast at 50Hz without creating an unwanted phosphor lag effect."

Barry then went looking for another "expert" who could help me.

Nah mate. Sunday I was painting the side of the shop followed by throwing a boomerang around with my boys at the park around the corner.

No crocs in Sydney Harbor. The sharks and drop bears killed 'em all.

I did spend 11 years in Darwin though were crocs can be seen just about anywhere
