The washing machine conspiracy

Post by greg parker on Fri 12 Apr 2013, 11:06 pm

This post has a curse on it. Have written it out twice, only to lose it twice just prior to finishing. So this is the very much abbreviated version.

23. THE WASHING-MACHINE THEORY

Proponent: George de Mohrenschildt.

Thesis: Marina Oswald, on the eve of the assassination, told her husband that they couldn’t live together “unless he would equip the apartment with a washing machine.” This demand caused a bitter argument which evoked in Oswald “the wish to strike and hurt someone.”

Drawback: According to the Warren Commission, Oswald had the materials for making the paper bag for his rifle before he visited with his wife. Anyhow, as the Warren Report notes, they had lived near a Laundromat. http://karws.gso.uri.edu/jfk/conspiracy_theories/Second_Primer/Second_primer.html

Now read the following documents which indicate that as at the 15th of Nov, Oswald was living at 507 East Tenth Street, Oak cliff and that on that day, he was visited separately by Marina and kids and Jack Ruby.

There are one or two problems (e.g. Marina being described with jet black hair) but these people were educated pillars of society.. doctors, lawyers and their spouses.
http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/viewer/showDoc.do?docId=111185&relPageId=151 and read through to page 155.

Now skip to page 158 through  160. On these pages, completely independent of the above, a tip came to the FBI that Oswald had attempted to buy furniture at a Garland shop using Jack Ruby as a reference. This had occurred on Nov 15 - same date as above sighting.

On further investigation, the FBI actually found that a female had called the store on behalf of a Mrs Oswald about renting a washing machine. When asked about references, this woman allegedly gave the name "Ruby". It is clear from the report however, that this was not meant to be Jack Ruby, but a first name - in other words, a female. I submit that the name given was misremembered post-assassination as Ruby since his name became so prominent. I further submit that the name given was actually "Ruth" and that where the document indicates LNU - it indicates "last name unrecalled".

Ruthy was duly interviewed - meaning that the FBI came to the same conclusion I did regarding the name confusion. In this interview,  she gave one of her oh so clever non-denials - "a call to Garland would be a toll call and I therefore would remember had I made it." In no way does that statement rule out her having made the call. She is simply stating she would remember making it if she did.

The following explains how Quakers avoid technical lies while also avoiding telling the truth:

Quakers who take not lying very seriously have traditionally still occasionally used not telling the whole truth as a way around that strictness. There are stories about people giving intentionally misleading but not technically false responses to questions like "why would you think that?" and non quakers warning each other to force a quaker into giving a straight answer and not to be misdirected by apparent denials that aren't actually making any claim. So even if you do believe that you should be always telling the truth and nothing but the truth, I'm not sure about the whole truth.
https://www.jefftk.com/p/quakers-and-affirming

Her WC testimony is full of similar examples.

final comments:

The FBI could easily have looked into who had been living at 507 East Tenth, but apparently didn't. It could also just as easily have checked toll calls for the 15th Nov from Ruth's house, but apparently never.

Did the argument over a washing machine and moving back together actually happen on the 15th and not the 21st as we have been told?

Been giving this further thought. In addition to the "jet black hair" , Marina was described as wearing at one time, a plaid skirt with a light colored blouse and another time the same skirt with a dark colored blouse.

I now think this was Ruth. The old girl who was the witness said the people she saw in Oak Cliff were the same people she saw on TV. I believe Ruth probably scored more air time than Marina and indeed, Mama Oswald stated in her testimony that Ruth was revelling in the media attention.

I think the witness got Marina and Ruth mixed up.

Here is Ruth with dark hair, plaid skirt and dark blouse... just as the witness described. And she did have a couple of rug rats herself...

The 15th of November was the friday of the weekend Oswald was allegedly kept away from the Paines because of a kids birthday party.

This charade was necessary to hide a multitude of issues.

On further reflection, I believe Oswald was staying at the Paines all along, but on the 15th was looking for another place with the help of Ruth. The Ruby character is more difficult to explain. It was either Ruby or possibly one of the White Russians. Did Ruby own a coat with a fur collar?

I think it unlikely Oswald did move into that address - unless it was a police-FBI-CIA safe house where no one would talk. By the same token, we know the N. Beckley address did not need new curtains. But maybe this place did?

Was 507 East 10th the "false" address Leavelle claims Oswald gave him?

Leavelle is full of shit. I discussed why he shouldn't be trusted in my review of "With Malice."

Agreed mate. I point out much the same thing in my Reid Technique article. His memory was flawless into his 90's, but lapsed many times during his WC testimony. But such people can and do sometimes accidentally let a bit of truth slip out. I'm just saying it's at least a slim possibility here.

I am thoroughly convinced by Ruth's avoidance of actually answering the question, and by the FBI's failure to check phone records, that she was the one who made the call to hire a washing machine for Marina.  And the physical and clothing descriptions both match Ruth as the female with Oswald at the East 10th St address.  The 15th was the Friday before the assassination and being a work day, it would have had to have been in late afternoon/early evening.
