Kennedy "admired" Nazis

Post by Hasan Yusuf on Thu 23 May 2013, 10:31 pm

According to the article below, JFK was an "admirer" of Nazis and fascism.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2329556/How-JFK-secretly-ADMIRED-Hitler-Explosive-book-reveals-President-s-praise-Nazis-travelled-Germany-Second-World-War.html

Amired Nazis my backside! I can't for the life of me imagine how a man like JFK could possibly be an admirer of Hitler or the Nazis, and I am 100% convinced that the quotes in the article have been greatly taken out of context.

If there is anyone who could provide an explanation, I would be most greatful.

P.S Greg, please feel free to move this topic to any part of the forum where you think is appropriate.

Hasan,

this is an example of care taken in this article:

The youthful president carved his own place in history when he stood outside the West Berlin town hall of Schoeneberg on June 26 1963 to declare US solidarity with the city and the continent with the immortal words; 'Ich bin ein Berliner.' The fact that, strictly speaking, he was referring to himself as a doughnut - a Berliner - did not diminish the wild enthusiasm for him.

From wiki:
Jelly doughnut misconception [edit]

A Berliner and half of a Berliner
There is a misconception that Kennedy made a risible error by saying Ich bin ein Berliner (emphasis added): the claim is made that Kennedy referred to himself not as a "citizen of Berlin" but as a "jelly doughnut", known in Berlin as a "Pfannkuchen" but as "Berliner" [8][9] in the north and west and as "Krapfen" in the south of Germany and in Austria. Kennedy should, supposedly, have said Ich bin Berliner to mean "I am a person from Berlin", and so adding the indefinite article ein to his statement implied he was a non-human Berliner, thus, "I am a jelly doughnut".[10] However, while the indefinite article ein is omitted when speaking of an individual's profession or residence, it is still necessary when speaking in a figurative sense as Kennedy did. Since the President was not literally from Berlin but only declaring his solidarity with its citizens, "Ich bin ein Berliner" was correct.[10]

The Daily Mail is renowned for the stench of its garbage.

Thanks, Greg. I guess they couldn't find any sex allegations they could make against him. You'd think these idiots who want to bash JFK would learn to quit, but they keep coming back with more crap.

JFK's actions during the Cuban missile crisis almost certainly saved the world from a nuclear holocaust. It's the primary reason why I am researching his assassination. Honestly, I sometimes wonder if these JFK bashers have a conscience, I really do.

IMO just another attempt to besmirch JFK. Prescott Bush laundered money for the NAZI's through his Union Banking Corp, and the mainstream media rarely mentions that FACT.

Nice to meet you, Arlene. I totally agree with you. I don't believe for even a nano-second that JFK could have admired Hitler and his ilk.

It's complete garbage.

Thank you for the welcome. The American press is in the hands of the plutocrats and will likely get worse.

You're welcome. There's no doubt in my mind that it will get worse, Arlene. We'll just have to wait and see how bad it's gonna get.

JFK admired Nazis

Post by Guest on Sun 26 May 2013, 11:35 pm

One example of Mr. Hall's apparently flawed research in this article is the photo of the aircraft landing in "Rome".
If I'm not mistaken this is a photo from the Berlin airlift in 1948.

Thanks for that, John. I have been able to confirm you are 100% correct. The Daily Mail is a disgrace.

After reading so much derogatory crap written about JFK, it came as a breath of fresh air to read something positive about his Presidency. I recommend everyone read the following article by Jeffrey Sachs.
