Marguerite, Nazis, New Jersey, 1941

Armstrong makes the following uncited claim:
In January, 1953, the House on Un-American Activities in New York had a file on a "Marguerite Oswald." This file contained references to 1941, Nazi's, New Jersey, and was eventually discovered in a CIA office of Security file. The Assassination Records Review Board requested this file, which apparently contained background information related to "Marguerite Oswald," but their request was denied.

Armstrong seems to be the only person who knows about this because I cannot find a single reference to it except for Armstrong, or others citing Armstrong.
Can anyone shed any light?

First time (I think) I've heard of this, Greg. I'll keep an eye out.

Do we know what kind of work Marguerite was doing in 1941?
I say that because at the time the Feds were very interested in following Nazi (and to a lesser extent, Soviet) money trails. I imagine the FBI's NY field office stumbled over some real heavy hitters. Check out this 2004 National Archives list of the 100 oldest classified documents. The first 8 are WWI documents (secret ink formulas and the like, which have since been released). The remaining 92-- running from 1938 to late 1940--are related, for the most part, to Nazi money laundering. No legitimate reason for any of that to still be secret, but I suspect there were some prominent names involved (and perhaps Marguerite was an employee).

Marguerite was running her own lotion shop in New Orleans in the early part of 1941, and was unemployed for part of that year. There is no evidence that she was anywhere else but in NO... which is why Armstrong is claiming the above alleged file is about the FAKE Marguerite.beowulf wrote:Do we know what kind of work Marguerite was doing in 1941?

I have been doing my own digging and there were two Nazi spy incidents in 1941 with tie-ins to New Jersey. Neither case appears to have any possible connections to Marguerite Oswald.
If this file exists (or there is proof at least that it once existed), it would be huge. That all roads with it lead only to Armstrong has alarm bells ringing.
But I'm open to be shown in error if anyone can point to a source that is neither Armstrong, nor traces back only to Armstrong.

If Margeurite's doppelganger moved when she moved, wouldn't she be in New Orleans too? John Armstrong's conspiracy theory just seems so...over-engineered.
Fine, I see the benefit of physical doubles, but why on earth do they need the same name?

It is the air-conditioned pants of JFK theories
The look mighty cool...
but really... I'd rather just wear shorts...

They wouldn't - any more than a doppleganger Lee would - except when specifically impersonating him.
Jack White used to say that Armstrong never used anything unless he had at least two sources for it. So far, I haven't been able to dig up even one for this.
