Jack Ruby told FBI informant to "watch the fireworks" Empty Jack Ruby told FBI informant to "watch the fireworks"

The informant was Bob Vanderslice.

For the inquiring minds asking around...

Vanderslice was a Dallas Police informant who hung out at The Players Lounge and later, was in a similar role in Miami.

I think he may still be alive in Florida somewhere.

Greg this article says he is dead or claimed to be.

Fuhlendorf told Vanderslice the FBI was looking for him, and that he'd probably be flown to D.C. to testify in front of the committee, which is probably why he never showed up and avoided the FBI agents who tried to find him. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice says he died in August 1978 while out on parole.

The SSDI has one Robert Vanderslice with a 1979 death in Texas. There is also Robert Vanderslice date of death 1978 in Pennsylvania.

What made me think he may be still alive is that he is on a list of names associated with criminal intelligence in Miami and there are one or two old guys in Florida still around with that name. But it looks like our boy is one of the two listed in the DI. The Miami guy may be yet another different RV.

Okay, I belive Vanderslice was an informant.
I belive he was at the corner near the Terminal Annex. Imo. So was Jack. Imo.
I believe they exchanged pleasantries and after the event Jack walked back into to DMN.
I find the governments use of witnesses in the DMN to locate Ruby always had a point but we were never given this till 1977 and then the IRS agent said he doesn't believe it but had to write the memo.
I don't trust this agent based on his demeanor and actions.
Is there anything to disprove Bob Vanderslice.
I just get a lot of heming and hawing from the articles contributor.
Why didn't Arlen Fuhlendorf put a line in the memo about the story not checking out, yet, or his opinion about the informants truthfulness.

They don't believe him so they badger him?
Setting up appointments for Bob to go to the fbi rather than FBI going to Bob.

It's subtle.

Again what proof is there Jack and Bob were not observing the fireworks.

Was the phone call the only time Jack called an informant for IRS or Feds and wanted them to hang out at potential crime scenes?

What was Bob's price for information?
How much money did IRS or feds pay him?

Is it so hard to believe Ruby walked 3 blocks to watch the parade.

Should we trust the governments narrative about Bob or what Bob said for free.

VANDERSLICE, ROBERT was born 26 February 1926, received Social Security number 461-32-1487 (indicating Texas) and, Death Master File says, died August 1979

In narrowing the search I checked his parents names. Herman and Linnie.

I checked their names in 1961 vs 1944/5
In 61 we have three ROBERT VANDERSLICE to choose from.

Jack Ruby told FBI informant to "watch the fireworks" Scree603
Robert B, C and D.

Seeing as Bob was born in 1926 he would be unlikely to be married and have a residence by 61
Imo.
Subtracting any Robert married and with a home in '44.

I believe possibility is Robert C or Robert D are our Bob. Or he was not included in either directory.

Robert C.
Instrument Repairman... as in musical?
A service Ruby might need for his club?

Or is Robert D a better candidate since there is no employment associated, wink wink
