shock - WMDs, Shock and Awe Empty WMDs, Shock and Awe

    on Sat 10 May 2014, 1:12 am
The focus of this forum is to discuss and develop ways to get the JFK Case reopened and reinvestigated.

Which is not to say that other subjects cannot come under discussion here as well. In many threads we exercise our investigative skills in searching through flotsam to find resolution to an aspect of the case. In some threads, we exercise our patience [or not] in discussing how others (i.e. other forums) are dealing with the case. And in some threads - like the recent "Parker and MacAdams are In Charge... Allegedly" - allows us a chance to exercise our humor in the face of this insanity. All are necessary to this endeavor. Especially the latter or we will all go completely bonkers.

My first post in this forum was in a thread called "What We Are Witnessing", a discussion of how to get the word out. In that thread, we witnessed the birth of Stan Dane the humorist and the world is a better (and funnier) place because of his efforts.

More recently, Greg has been interviewed by a local member of the press and we are waiting to see if that toe in the door can be leveraged into further features based on the recent developments in the case. It is a small beginning, I know, but it is at least something.

The Weapons of Mass Delusion (a.k.a. mainstream media) hold the key to the public consciousness. Otherwise would anyone really give a damn about what the Kardashians are doing today? And they have been very stingy about giving even bad coverage to this case.

Even in the ramping up to the 50th, there was little mention of any conspiracy theories. It's pretty sad when they don't even deride us anymore.

Joseph Green developed a list of ten items that all conspiracists can agree on so that we can present a united front. Unfortunately, the list is still causing some separation as some items ob the list are found objectionable.

It is almost as if the case would have to be completely solved - and in a very big way - for it to be a blip on their radar screens.

And that brings us to "shock and awe".

Oliver Stone's film "JFK" did more to get the story out there than anything else in a long time. Bestselling books haven't done it, conferences haven't, and neither has anything else we have tried.

So, perhaps it is time to think Hollywood again.

And not along the lines of "JFK" or a docudrama or documentary or even Richard Gilbride's idea about the workings inside the TSBD. No, we are going to have to think outside the box, think obliquely, think in algorithms.

I envision a suspenseful piece - not immediately discernable to be anything about the assassination - but leading up to the ah-ha moment (a la "Sixth Sense") when the viewer suddenly realizes what has happened. The power in that sort of film is that the writer relies on the audience to make the mental leap to conclusion.

That's the shock... and awe. And you do not even ever have to mention the conspiracy in the murder of JFK but it should be made rather obvious to even the least receptive of the audience: the WMD's.

Now that I have put this on the table, you are probably waiting for the pitch... "kindly donate your milk and Starbucks money for the next fourteen months..." or that I have Norman Lear's brother's hairdresser's producer on speed-dial. Or someone equally important.

Nah. Nothing like that. It is just a concept I am putting out there for discussion. I personally do not have a plot or a story or even an idea for either... though I think it would be cool if Bruce Willis starred (well, that is if he's still alive when this thing gets off the ground).

But I am pretty sure that if the project mentioned the assassination as a feature of the film it would be torched - sight unseen - by every newspaper this side of the Greater Magellanic Cluster.

An indie film would be good... even a Christian themed tale as that is what is getting really big at the moment... Like I said: out of the box.

Hey! Have your people get in touch with my people and let's do lunch, capice?

Another film that comes to mind is "Arlington Road" with Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins. After all the pseudo-conspiracy crap I've seen on television, this writer knew how to construct a conspiracy tale.

And the audience gets the reality just about the same moment as the main character... too late.

I enjoyed the movie "Salt" with Angelina Jolie. Actually, I probably enjoyed watching Angela Jolie in "Salt" more.
I am sure the screenwriter was influenced by Oswald and the Kennedy assassination when he wrote it.

I agree at least some of the research community should agree upon a unified set of verifiable evidence that supports our contentions. We do not need to agree on evidence if we can verify and corroborate it. I hope we succeed where the Commission failed and eventually create a unified timeline of November 22.

I would like to see an attempt to make a film regarding how the Lopez Report was compiled. Through flashbacks as the principle players testify to the HSCA, the audience will see the many contradictions the report uncovered. Researchers and forum members are well aware of this, but how about the general public? When LHO, according to the cable traffic, should have been watched like a hawk, the opposite happens. With an honest film maybe its a story worth telling.

She seems to have been the saving grace of that movie. It did seem to be loosely based on the JFK event but the plot in the film seemed to have as many holes as the WC. I kept hoping the plot would congeal into something cohesive but that seemed beyond the screenwriter's abilities.

It did seem to capture the "flavor" of conspiracy but fell as short as Alan Specter in its delivery.

Have you forgotten already, Terry? You had the chick next to you mark you up with a sharpie to psychologically intimidate your opponent (you did put the ixnay on her going above your knee). One look at you and it was over. I imagine the artwork has pretty much washed off by now, huh?
