2014 World Cup - Predictions

Post by Guest on Tue 13 May 2014, 7:13 am

1. Brazil to complete all building projects for the 2014 WC in 2015.
2. Australia to make it through the knockout stages, onto the quarters, semis and onto an unlikely final vs Algeria. First time in WC history that 2 nations both beginning and ending with the letter A, bring their A game to the decider. Penalty shoot out which will also be resolved in 2015 as both teams will struggle to net their penalties.
3. Sepp Blatter to marry Lionel Messi in a quite ceremony so as to not detract too much with Argentinas team preparation.
4. Due to 30% unemployment in Spain, their national side arrives in Brazil and begin working on completing some of the stadiums.
5. Cristiano Ronaldo shines in Brazil. His hair that is.
6. England shock. Not expected to win WC for the first time since 1966. This time Fleet Street get it right for the first time since 1966.
7. Holland receives 7 yellow cards and 2 reds on the plane over to Brazil taking off where they left off in the 2010 final vs Spain.
8. Wayne Rooney admits he really is Shrek. Everyone knew that already Wayne.
9. Germany team made up entirely by immigrant nationals. Hitler is heard spinning in his grave and cheering for Argentina where all his mates ended up.
10. Americans will still not know the World Cup is on.

Sorry Paul. Moved thread to a more appropriate forum.

Sepp Blatter? What a delightful name!

If you want the US to know the World Cup is on simply rename it the World Series and only have US teams in it.

Sorry, Greg. I missed that misc.

Not a delightful fellow our Sepp. Embroiled in all types of corruptions but wears teflon.

I really don't want the U.S to know about the WC. It's one of the few times they don't interfere with world events.

I could not agree with you more.

After all, the US hasn't got a clue about the original WC (1963) so why should they differ with this WC?

I don't have a fave but I do enjoy watching the games. It's a game I used to love playing when I was on the school team too many years ago to mention.

I am Spanish, terlin, so I will be glued to my seat hoping they can achieve the quadruple i.e Euro 2008, WC 2010, Euro 2012, WC 2014.

They call it the "beautiful game" and it is for the most part. Size doesn't matter and the ball is shaped like our Globe. I love it and like yourself played in my younger years.

The US always fields a decent team and they play the game in a fair manner. The US Womens team have been the best team in the world for quite some time.

Very funny, Stan. I've passed it on to some of my Greek mates.

US vs Germany is also like a tomb, Terry. Both teams are trying so hard not to lose and who can blame them when a draw sees them both progress.
I've been very impressed with this U.S team.

This is a joke. This clown has done this for a third time and all he has to do is rest for 4 months and then be welcomed back to the fray. How do I explain that to my son?
FIFA can go and do itself.

Nothing new, Paul.

Years ago, an American football player was arrested for possession of heroin. Most people get ten years, he got a warning. The next year, he was busted again and got another warning. The following year he got busted for dealing. Still nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Anyone else would have been in jail for a cool twenty, and he didn't spend a day in jail. Today that reprobate is in the "Hall of Fame" for the sport and a major spokesperson for the profession.

The NFL can do it to themselves as well... and they always do.

He was taught the game by Mike Tyson.

You would think Marquez just shot Robben in the back but he only touched his toe. Robben can be seen smiling right after the ref blew for a penalty.
I predict Arjen will represent the Netherlands at the Olympic pool in 2016. This dive had to be one of his best.

That was quite a dive. However, over at the DPF, a fella called Bob has produced a stunning set of dives regarding statements he's made. I believe he is ready to attempt the "Triple Lindy". A most difficult dive, only Rodney Dangerfield has ever pulled it off.

I've seen that dive, Alan. It looks like a BS dive and I am guessing the film was altered to make it look like Rodney Dangerfield pulled it off. You know the drill, missing frames, retouches, etc. Makes me think Bob might similarly try and pull it off with a little bit of help from the CIA and their 10 year advanced technology that those at the DPF are sure about.

It's hard to say. I think we need to send it to the Cinquehole for further analysis, Alan.
