How do we open that, Greg?

The quality of the audio is not great and you may not pick up some (or possibly even much) of what's being said. It's a step along a learning curve though, and it also served other purposes. Giving Hasan the experience has helped him get over nerves with public speaking, and Paul has shown himself to be a natural interviewer. With the right gear, both will shine in any future podcasts, speaking engagements or interviews.
I am also determined to ensure better audio quality from here on. I want as many members involved as possible as either guests or hosts, but the one condition is having access to a reasonable mic and headphones set.
Anyhow, for those who can follow what's being said in this podcast, it's a pretty good ride. Lot's of great info and a few laughs along the way.

Just a further note on what Greg says, to all who download or listen to it I will advise to use headphones and adjust the volume and tone if possible. It is definitely worth a listen but unfortunately the audio quality is not the best due to equipment issues. It was a recording of a phonecall on loud speaker and although the original was somewhat discernable, the transfer hasn't quite worked out so well so I apologise. This will be avoided in future podcasts but please have a listen and enjoy the show. Links will be available for sources quoted soon.

I listened to about 20 minutes of the podcast but unfortunately I had to give up because I couldn’t hear enough of what Hasan was saying to follow it.
I’ve got a fairly new high end laptop with quite good inbuilt speakers. The wired speakers I used with my old computer don’t work with this one and I think it only accepts Bluetooth speakers.
I doubt though that even with external speakers it would make an appreciable difference. However, it just might be me as my hearing isn’t the best anyway and I’d like to hear how others fared.
It’s a shame because I was looking forward very much to hearing Hasan speak on the topics he has written so well about.

Thanks for trying anyway, Goban.Goban Saor wrote:PS Just tried listening with headphones (wired) and there was no improvement unfortunately.
My hearing isn't so great at the moment either, and I wasn't sure how much was my hearing problem, and how much was technical issues.
I'm sure there will be more from Hasan in future. I know he has a birthday soon and I'm hoping someone gives him a mic and/or headphones as a present!
This won't be staying up in the long term. For good or bad, there is limited space on podomatic, so down the track, I'll have to remove older ones to make way for the latest. The old ones won't disappear. I'll archive them somewhere.

Not sure what to say, Goban. Sorry mate. Jake enhanced it quite a bit but when it got transferred to podomatic a lot of it must have gone amiss. I dunno really. It is unfortunate.Goban Saor wrote:PS Just tried listening with headphones (wired) and there was no improvement unfortunately.

I agree. It definitely lost something in the transfer. Possibly my fault. I transferred it under "music" instead of as speech simply because it said that was a higher quality and I thought it might help. Possibly did the opposite.Paul Francisco Paso wrote:Not sure what to say, Goban. Sorry mate. Jake enhanced it quite a bit but when it got transferred to podomatic a lot of it must have gone amiss. Definitely not your fault Greg. This is strictly an equipment issue. We'll learn from this. Sent you and Hasan a PMgreg parker wrote:I agree. It definitely lost something in the transfer. No need for the apology, Paul. Thanks for the effort put into it. It’s a good idea that’s worth working on.
Just in case the problem is due to my poor hearing or equipment, it might be best to get feedback from someone else before taking it down.
Have you considered using that Skype type thing (ie with the speakers on camera) which I see used on some of the alternative media, or does that involve expensive equipment?

Skype was the initial idea mate but Hasan and I were not tech savvy enough to do it. I've got an old laptop slowly running on Linux and couldn't get it set up. My android phone is more powerful and we both thought this would suffice with a recorded phone call. We were wrong. Next time we'll know better.uGoban Saor wrote:No need for the apology, Paul. I took it down and started again, using Jake's cleaned up version. This time I exported it at a high bit rate and, though still far from perfect, the quality Jake managed to draw out has largely been maintained. I think we're down to accents now as the main issue
Anyway, it's back up...

Thanks Greg and many thanks to Jake as well. Had a listen and it is much much better. Hasan's voice is very discernible in this version even when I talk over the top of him which I inadvertently did more than a few times.
Sorry mate but I had to get my rant out. Again I'd like to thank Hasan for allowing me to interview him and thanks again to Greg and all the encouragement from the crew here at ROKC. The link to the podcast is https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/rokccevents/episodes/2016-11-07T12_46_23-08_00
I've posted the links to what we talked about.

137 listens so far in 4 days! Awesome. Hasans work needs to be recognized and the JFK research community needs a kick up the backside when it comes to Prayer Man. Thanks for listening and spread the word so we can reopen this case.

Just wanted to add further links to some of the issues both Hasan and I discussed particularly with the brilliant Bus Story thread both Lee Farley and Greg Parker worked on that can be found at:

Just to be clear, I was only involved in a very minor was with that bus thread. It was Lee's work and he got help mainly from Duke Lane at the Ed Forum. I believe since then, Ed has picked up on the bus ticket angle and made that an invaluable addition to Lee's work.

To be fair to everyone involved, Lee drove that mythical bus with you on board as a concerned passenger. Duke Lane made sure of some of the mechanical issues and Ed checked the tickets. A magical mystery tour of sorts. Let's not forget Lee is after all from Liverpool.greg parker wrote:Thanks for that Paul.Paul Francisco Paso wrote:Just wanted to add further links to some of the issues both Hasan and I discussed particularly with the brilliant Bus Story thread both Lee Farley and Greg Parker worked on that can be found at:

I joined this forum because of that thread. I watched the good , the bad and the downright fucking ugly as the thread evolved. I learnt that tearing down shithouse walls causes a stink.

Yep, I think Paul joined because of that thread as well. And Stan because of Sean's epic thread. I'm the happy and grateful "winner" from those threads.steely dan wrote:I joined this forum because of that thread. I watched the good , the bad and the downright fucking ugly as the thread evolved. It was Lee and Sean at the summit of the stinking pile of shit and coming down smelling of roses.

Great thread. Capper is the stop that never happened at Elm and Houston. Mcwatters would never, ever have made that mistake. Like him saying he flew the bus through the air instead of driving it on the road.

Just another bump if you guys don't mind. 327 listens so far in just over 2 weeks. It not only promotes Hasans research but also Stan Danes and Bart Kamps efforts on Prayer Man so the more listens the better. The audio quality is noew awesome thanks again to Jake. Let's keep the momentum going and reopen this fucking case once and for all.
