In 1989 i attended my one and only live game. Widnes v Wigan. Two stand out memories. Offiah running the full length of the pitch to score. He had just switched codes.
I also got to see a tank, disguised as a human, called K urt Sorenson. I found out why Rugby fans don't invade the pitch.

Kurt's brother, Dane Sorensen wasn't too bad either...

That's Harvey Sorenson, i'm talking about Lee Sorenson.
True story. Years later a delivery driver who is contracted by our company mentioned he would be playing rugby later. This was a saturday morning. I told him about the time i had seen Kurt and he told me that the previous week his team had played against a team that Sorenson still played for as an amatuer. He told me that the chance to belt a legend proved to be irresitable for him and his teamates but it took half of them to bring him down. To their dismay he kept getting up and would smile at them. After the game he bought them all a drink.
Legend.

Yeah mate. Great memories of watching Kurt, Dane, Lee and Harvey playing.

There have been some legends from the Olde Country too... Elery Hanley was a favorite.

Lazy bastard wouldn't train, but shit he could play.

He could play alright. Terry Lamb knew that and that's why he knocked him out in the 1988 GF.
