Three Roses Empty Three Roses

Sun 30 Mar 2014, 11:13 am
:: This is close enough to the 1960s to reach out and touch it ::

Early in 1972, my girlfriend broke up with me ("You'll never make enough money, Stan"), and right after this my dad died in a small plane crash. One morning, while driving to work, I heard this song, "Three Roses." I thought "I've lost two roses already; I'm going to hang on to the third!"

I did.

PS: My ex-girlfriend ended up marring a guy who worked at a gasoline filling station. I went on to become the head of the chemistry department at the largest nuclear power facility in the US. Funny how things work out, isn't it?
