TVtropes on Oak Cliff Empty TVtropes on Oak Cliff

The `Real Life` section for TVtropes entry for `The City Narrows` states following:
Oak Cliff and the rampant crime within was one of many reasons Dallas, Texas earned the "Murder Capital of the U.S." several times before a concentrated enforcement effort cleaned up the crime considerably. It's still rather wise to avoid Oak Cliff and some parts of Deep Ellum at night.
    Section `Real Life` from http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCityNarrows

Ok, TVtropes is Wikipedia-like source anyone can edit anonimously. However, I believe people from Dallas could easilly confirm, dismiss or correct this statement.

If this statement is true, was this fact ever considered as factor in the investigation of J.D. Tippit murder?
