Dr Burkley.
Sun 02 Jan 2011, 3:59 pm
I have been trying to get hold of Rear Admiral, Dr, George G. Burkley's (potential) files, that may or may not be at the law firm of http://www.macdonaldillig.com/ MacDonald Illig Law Firm in Pennsylvania, for almost a year and a half.
As we all know, Dr Burkley was JFK's personal White House physician. Burkley was present in the motorcade in Dallas, at parkland, Air force 1, Bethesda (some say running the autopsy), in charge of the brain when it went 'missing' ect ect.
http://www.maryferrell.org/wiki/index.php/The_Missing_Physician
With the help of Jim DiEnginio I have been able to make a contact in the law firm, unfortunately Mr Spoden of the Illig law firm could not understand my Kiwi accent over the phone, and when I sent a follow up email he declined to reply.
I have had a friend ask the probate courts in LA for Nancy Burkley Denlea's executor records. In fact my friend paid the $4 for the information, which was never sent out. Nancy is Dr Burkley's daughter, and her executor would be able to sign a client attorney waiver (as I understand).
Dr Burkley contacted the HSCA during Mr Sprague's time there via his attorney Mr William F Illig, and stated that he had evidence that there were more people than Lee Oswald shooting that day. http://www.jfklancer.com/Dr_Burkley.html
Mr Horne of the ARRB asked Nancy if she would sign an attorney client waiver, to which she said she would. A few days later when the papers were ready and a follow up call was placed she had abruptly changed her mind with no reason given.
The trouble I am having now, is that the LA probate courts will not accept my visa card, it has to be American? Or maybe I must be American to get access. Anyhow if anyone would be willing to contact the Los Angeles probate courts for me and inquire about the executor of Mrs Nancy Burkley Denlea's estate, I would be very greatful.

I can pay you back, but it would be good to get the ball rolling again! I don't really want to have to take it through the courts and I would hate to eventually get there after kicking and screaming, only to find the files (if any) 'missing'. I am prepared to go through the American courts if I have to, but do prefer not to.
Here are my legal notes to in my short hand for anyone who's interested:
Historian's Access To The Files Of Lawyers:
Historians may access files of a historical nature if,
a)The files help the public's interest in an accurate rendition of the past.
b) The purpose of enhancing the historical record,
c) American case law generally holds that the right to privacy dies with the individual,
d) A compelling need to know,
e) American Law Institute has stated that it is all right for lawyers to aid researchers when no harm results to the client.
Thank you if you took the time to read this.

Frankie,
Were you doing all this over the phone, or was there a form completed from the website, along with a visa payment application?
If your problems were stemming from the website, I'd like to check it out.
If I can't help, I hope someone in the US can lend a hand. Either you discover the evidence Dr Burkley had, or you find out he really had nothing much at all, or what he thought was evidence is no such thing. It's a win no matter what. Removing something from the table is just as good as finding something to put on it.

Thanks Greg,
I had someone in LA contact the Probate Courts by phone, they got his credit card details and said they would send him the information by post. This was about 6-8 months ago. He was just never contacted back by the courts, even after follow up calls.
If I can find Mrs Nancy Burkley Denlea's executor, then I maybe able to contact them directly about access to the files, rather than go the hard, noisy way, via the courts.
You are right, even if I get to the end to find nothing, it will still be worth it, knowing that there is nothing...

Good luck with it Frankie. I have always been dumbfounded as to why he was never asked to testify at the WC given he basically signed the death certificate.

Thank you.
It is a strange tale, it seems our good Dr wasn't questioned by the HSCA either, only giving an affidavit days before the sunset on the committee. I have a feeling that if Sprague had of stayed in as the head of the committee, Burkley would have had his chance to give out the information he had. And it seems he did want to speak out.
I think Dr Burkley was a good man on the whole and did feel guilt in helping the cover up.

Sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you had tried to do it online after your friend never heard back. I don't think your visa should be a problem. But maybe you do need to be a US resident?
Hopefully someone will offer some help...
