new book

The election is all over. Our senate ticket was just one of well over 30 from parties contesting 6 NSW seats. From memory, nearly 200 candidates in total. In terms of first preference votes, we are just inside the top half, but counting is long and drawn out because of the complexity of the distribution of preferences (think of it as an instant run-off). Could be weeks before final numbers are known, even though it is now certain who has won the seats.
With that out of the way, I would like to announce that I will be putting together a ROKC book which will be published by those great guys at Martian Publishing.
I have to think about the best way to do this: direct quotes vs summaries - or a mix - how it will be organized - chronologically according to the assassination time-line vs chronologically according to the date of the post. Or by subject matter? Or by ROKC contributor?
Open to suggestions on a book title.
If anyone does not want their work used, please let me know.
Proceeds could go an ad in a major paper calling for the films or otherwise to a charity of our choice (and maybe a nice holiday for Terry for his efforts in publishing and everything else that follows from that).
Thoughts, ideas appreciated.

In accordance with your request, the following are just ideas. I am not an author nor do I possess the capabilities needed to write a book, so take this for what it’s worth in formulating your ideas about how a book should be structured.
If one decides to chase down the elements in the official story in order to gain a deeper understanding of the facts and contradictions, one is inevitably greeted by a wryly smiling ‘dead end’ emoticon, or rabbit hole as the case may be. As we know, this is because the various trails have been carefully and intentionally obscured, i.e. covered up.
ROKC’s approach nevertheless is to deeply research and elaborate on the multiple interpretations that can be assigned to any part of the official story with the evidence that was rolled out and most importantly, to introduce new evidence to bolster the alternative interpretations that the official interpretations beg for.
So is a feasible structure to follow the official story along and when the story hits a pothole created by the work of ROKC, roll out the quotes, dates, names and work that apply to that portion of the story. As this progresses, multiple theories or interpretations could by applied to any given portion of the official story if multiple theories or interpretations of that part of the story were explored by ROKC. Maybe these potholes would form the chapters in the book?
Perhaps the final chapter could be the ‘best interpretation’ of the ROKC work summarized as a proposed timeline of events. In other words, select the preferred versions from the various iterations and string them together. I would be happy to leave that executive function to Greg and the key guys helping with it.

Excellent ideas Jake. As with the screenplay the primary focus should be the weekend starting with the trip to work.
Possible title..........Reid all about it.

Greg,
Great idea for a book.
First off, the proceeds do not need to go to me as I get a cut already for being the publisher.
Meanwhile, structurally, you might frame each chapter with a major subsection of the case like the 2nd Floor Encounter, the Rooming house on Beckley, the bus/cap trip, etc.
Each section could start off with the "official" story and then shred it with the facts. When that is out of the way, the correct construction can be put into place.
At the end of the deconstruction phase, the final section could re-examine the case anew with all the crap and falsehoods removed. I think once that is done, the case will take on a whole new look for everyone.
It's a lot of work no matter how you tackle it.

Thanks for the kind words and ideas, Jake.
I see where you're coming from, Steely, but the idea is to showcase the best of all the work here. To do that, it will need to be broader -- but definitely have good strong chapters covering our work on Ferris Oswald's (Half) Day Off... commencing of course with the work done on the Where's Your Rider thread.
Terry,
What I'm thinking is something along these lines... which is a mish-mash of what's been suggested so far. Not sure about quoting large chunks from the WC Report as prelude to our work, as I think we are already looking at one very large volume, or two smaller, but still substantial ones. Maybe a brief summary would suffice.
BOOK ONE: OSWALD
Chapters
Early Years
Marines
Behind the Iron Curtain
The Return
BOOK TWO: TOO MUCH OF NOTHING
Chapters
Addresses and Jobs - Dallas-Fort Worth
Reunion
The Paines, White Russians & General Walker
New Orleans
BOOK THREE: LOOKING FOR WORK
Chapters
The Twifords
The Bus Witnesses
The Employment Agency
Meanwhile in Mexico City...
BOOK FOUR: ADDRESSES
Chapters
YMCA, Dallas
2515 W. 5th St, Irving
621 Marsalis St, Oak Cliff
1026 N. Beckley, Oak Cliff
BOOK FIVE: MEETINGS & RALLIES
Chapters
The Suburban Kitchen Koffee Klatch
ACLU
US DAY
UN DAY
BOOK SIX: NOVEMBER 22
Chapters
Where's Your Rider?
The Prayer Man Controversy
The Alibi
The "Escape"
BOOK SEVEN: THE TIPPIT MURDER
Chapters
Timing
Helen Markham
The Gun & The Wallet
The Much Hyped New Tippit Time-Line
BOOK EIGHT: THE FRAME
Chapters
The Reid Technique
Palm Prints & Paraffin Tests
Back Yard Photos
Hidell ID
BOOK NINE: WITNESSES CALLED
Chapters
Sylvia Odio
Robert McKeown
Cliff Shasteen
Dial Ryder
BOOK TEN: WITNESSES NOT CALLED

BOOK ELEVEN: JACK RUBY

Proposed Title - THE ROKC Forum: A Fresh Investigation of the JFK Assassination
Alternative titles also considered.
Can we get some volunteers to write brief forewords?

I'll start floating some book cover ideas as this (great!) project progresses. Here are two quick ones using the title Greg proposed just to get the creative juices flowing:
The ultimate overall design and layout we use—pictures, drawings, title, fonts, etc.—will be up to you. So comment profusely!

Wrote the preface last night.
Stan, I like the covers. I'd like as many ideas as anyone can up with - and as previously asked - a few forewords.
