announcement
Wed 12 Feb 2014, 10:21 am
It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Lee has pulled out of the book.
I want to emphasize that it has nothing to do with recent events on the forum, nor anything to do with lack of faith in the project. On the contrary, in a recent email, he said he believed that the book will "open people's minds with the content and will reframe the assassination and contextualise it in ways that have never been attempted."
Lee has explained his reasons, which are personal, and as the publisher pointed out, honorable. I am hopeful he will come back on board at some stage for one or both of the next volumes. Regardless, he has offered to help promote the books, design covers as needed and offered the use of any of his research.
I had my reasons for asking Lee to come on board with this in the first place. Some of those reasons had to do with Lee's ability at research, some with what I perceived as his integrity. I would not be leaving the door open if I thought any different now, despite his timing being horrible in more ways than one.
Barring any further unexpected technical delays (the best way to handle all the foot and end notes in ebook format had to be addressed) it could be ready as early as tomorrow, or at the end of next week at the latest.
The page for the book is here: http://www.reopenkennedycase.net/new-disease-press.html

The book page now has a complete rundown on what new info it contains, as well as an excerpt from each part.

Greg, if the rest of the book is as well written as those excerpts, it will not only be the important contribution it promises to be, but will indeed be a pleasure to read.

Thanks for all that info, Greg. Reading through those excerpts has left me itching badly to read the whole book.
Re: announcement

Thank you Hasan and Albert,
I can't say that the writing is uniform in quality. It was more a priority to get the info out for now. As I write volume two, I am going through and fixing up any sloppy writing, loose commas etc in volume one along with other editing to get it ready for the combined print version. In short, once the main objective is achieved of putting all the substantive material out there, I can concentrate more on style for the hard copy.
I am using a very small local publishing "facilitator" to publish under my own logo, so all marketing is up to me (which is why I've dived into twitter and linkdin). Any help in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated.
I know it's been said a million times by a million writers, but I promise you all I have this thing nailed as much as it can possibly be from this far back in the bleachers. The next step is to use the material to try and force another official inquiry. I wouldn't say that if the evidence I've mustered wasn't strong enough to warrant it.
I should hear something this week.

Greg,
I'm very sorry, but I've been having difficulty accessing my blog to put up a link to your book info and excerpts. I will try to put up the link through another internet connection later on today.

Greg, I love this forum, and all it stands for. I sincerely hope that your efforts are recognized and trust the book brings about the outcomes you're seeking. I could pass on the details/contacts etc along with the books synopsis, and its purpose, to my many mainstream media mates, if you would like. Let me know. cheers Mick

The FBI interviewed Von Peacock, but failed to identify, let alone interview, the person who was the actual Director during 1963. His name was Ed Duckles and he was not only the director, but the founder of the non-profit organization. Despite this, his name appears nowhere in the 26 volumes of reports, interviews or other documentation.

Press Democrat, The (Santa Rosa, CA) - April 8, 2001
Deceased Name: EDWIN DUCKLES
Edwin Lawson Duckles , who had a long career working for the American Friends Service Committee, died March 26. He was 86 years old.
For the past 19 years, he and his wife Jean lived in Santa Rosa Creek Commons, a co-housing project near downtown. They were charter members.
A California native, he was active in the YMCA and received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. He was involved in setting up the Berkeley Consumers Cooperative.
Duckles was greatly influenced by a five-month UNESCO travel fellowship in 1955. He traveled around the world, spending a considerable amount of time in India and Japan.
In 1941, he began working with the American Friends Service Committee as a summer project leader in Torreon, Mexico, then as a field secretary for the organization's peace section in North Carolina.
In 1945, he became field director in Mexico. He later set up and supported committee work in El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru. In the mid-1960s, he headed the organization's population education program in Latin America.
Duckles is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Bob and Rick; two daughters, Ann and Judy; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The family requests donations to the American Friends Service Committee and/or the Friends House, 684 Benicia Drive, Santa Rosa 95409.

The document you found is from 1965 and therefore was not in the 26 volumes. In any case, it is only mentioned as a name listed in someone's note/phone book.
The document may have some value though because of the list of names...

Email update from the publisher:
--------------------------
Hi Greg
I was working so hard to get that file finished Friday and then today – but every time I got close, I remembered something else I had to check!
I now just need to insert the images in the right spots and make the changes you sent through with that last version, and we will be almost good to go, so hopefully tomorrow afternoon.
We have been working on our IndieMosh site this last week (or rather, Ally has) and I’m really looking forward to adding this book to our collection! Haven’t been able to read much, but I’ve seen phrases here and there that have certainly piqued the interest!
Cheers
