My review of "Killing Kennedy" Empty My review of "Killing Kennedy"

Fri 19 Oct 2012, 3:02 pm
When Mr. O'Reilly first starting talking about working on a Kennedy book, he boldly stated it would solve the case once and for all. Given his past efforts on chasing down the CIA relationship with George de Mohrenschildt, I held out some hope. But "hope", I guess like faith, is all too often misplaced.

Oswald had an alibi - despite attempts by some of the interrogators to misrepresent it in testimony and reports. The one person who faithfully retold Oswald's alibi was the only non-law official at the last interrogation - Postal Inspector Harry Holmes. Oswald ate lunch on the 1st floor along with a coke he'd obtained from the 2nd floor. After the assassination, he tried to go outside to see what was happening but was stopped by police AT THE FRONT DOOR and asked to step aside until they could obtain his details. How do we know this was the accurate version? We know because this was what was reported in some press reports quoting police sources and published prior to Holmes' questioning of Oswald.

During the frantic search for the President's killer, police were posted at exits to the warehouse. Police said a man, whom they identified as Oswald, walked through the door of the warehouse and was stopped by a policeman. Oswald told the policeman that "I work here," and when another employee confirmed that he did, the policeman let Oswald walk away, they said.
(initial report in the Sydney Morning Herald)

"Then he said when all this commotion started, 'I just went on downstairs.' And he didn't say whether he took the elevator or not. He said, 'I went down, and as I started to go out and see what it was all about, a police officer stopped me just before I got to the front door, and started to ask me some questions, and my superintendent of the place stepped up and told the officers that I am one of the employees of the building, so he told me to step aside for a little bit and we will get to you later. Then I just went on out in the crowd to see what it was all about.'"
(taken from the Warren Commission testimony of Harry Holmes) The "stairs" Oswald went down were the front stairs of the building entrance - thus no mention of an elevator.

Did Oswald have any connection to the intelligence community?

Look no further than his own half brother, John Pic. At the time Lee Oswald and his mother moved to NY to live with Pic in 1952, Pic was working in the intelligence unit of the Coast Guard - the Port Security Unit. This unit worked hand in glove with the FBI and Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and their networks of informants to rid ports of subversive elements. Later, when Oswald went to the USSR and attended the office of Richard Snyder at the embassy to renounce citizenship, Snyder had someone else in the office - ostensibly an exchange student from Harvard named Ed Keenan who would later tell Priscilla Johnson McMillan that he was there due to a "visa problem". Documents and newspaper accounts however, now show that Snyder had been a CIA "spotter" at Harvard looking for students to go to the USSR under cover of student exchange. The same year that Oswald came home, Snyder was shifted to Tokyo and Keenan was made "persona non grata" and kicked out of the USSR for spying.
