Well, hopefully the lawsuit will settle it, Ed. 

I'm not sure what he could have seen that would make him not want to reveal anything.

Hints of an internal coup? Why wouldn't he want to reveal that since it fits with his swamp narrative?

A Cuban  and/or Soviet plot? Again, why wouldn't he want to reveal that - damn commies!

Friendly fire from the Secret Service? Shocking yes, but why he want to shield the public from it?

Oswad did it? If there was absolute proof of that, it would have been revealed way back.

The files reveal methods of operations and other sensitive data? Nothing shocking about that. Standard reason for withholding or redacting.

Maybe you can think of something, Ed, but I'm stumped by what could have been so shocking to him. 

And if Nap is telling the truth, and Trump was telling the truth to him, is that also the reason Biden blinked?  

The Mafia/CIA/LBJ scenarios I think cover all the main theories - including at least some favored by the lawyers in the lawsuit. 

Maybe that should get the judge to write an affidavit stating that this was what the president told him. Tho the prez has the power to not approve release, from memory, there is some guidance in the law as to when that may be applied. I don't think it is a blank check to deny just because he hasn't had his coffee yet.  And I don't think protecting the public from something "shocking" is mentioned in the guidance. I agree with the judge.It would have to be somehing in the order of film or photos that were deemed too graphic. That was the whole reason the z-film was withheld. But we've all grown up since then. There is more graphic imagery in a comedy these days than anything that could be in any further media from that weekend.

Trump may not watch CSI but a moribund JFK with probes not alignining sticking out of him like a pocupine (the prickliest of rodents) may have rattled him. He seems like an 'Oswald is GUILTY' kind of guy but has an inkling there's more to it.
His curiosity may be why he wanted to read through the file rather than a briefing by agents as Biden did.
Could be why 10% was released, as some descriptions didnt phase Joe. "Come On Man, thats not so bad, release the cover page and the index..."

Doubtful medico imagery would be enough to stop release as you say Sat. morning cartoons are more graphic. I doubt they have the missing xrays autopsy photos and tissue slides to let anyone peruse in the file.

If the law agrees there is no discretion and Presidents have not the authority vested in them by the Personal Approval written as law, then we will find out what was so abhorrent.

Should the court not agree... then we are not getting full disclosure, and if ever.
It will then be a pariah and Potus approval wont be forthcoming.

If you want something from the feds dont give them an out.
If a law has a loophole,
expect arrows to come from it!!
