Romney is even worst. Romney is for austerity, Obama is also, but in a thinly disguised way.

My own speculation about this is that virtually world wide, conservatives have successfully convinced whole populations that balancing the budget is the most important thing a government can do. So "liberal" type parties have come to believe that to get in and stay in - they have to balance the budget and stay out of the red.

It's really a con trick to divert as much money as possible into war, and to cut taxes for the wealthy. You do that by cutting domestic social programs and aid going to strategically unimportant countries.

Tragedy & Hope by Quiqley is a great read on what is going on now. His work was originally published in the 1960's. I've owned a copy since circa 1976. At around that time the very rightwing John Birch Society was pushing it, and today the Koch brothers, whose farther a a Birch Society founder are among the financial leaders of America pushing the way that leads to surfdom, via detroy the unions and so called free trade.
