A New Oswald Lookalike
Mon 16 Dec 2013, 9:47 pm
James Richards has today posted this photograph over at the Education Forum:
If I didn't know better I'd swear that is Robert Oswald. He most definitely has the Oswald mouth and ear.

James is asking who members think it is, Greg. Someone of James' calibre must see the Robert Oswald resemblance and is checking for corroboration.
The conversation is heading down the Arnold Rowland route but there is no way on earth it is Rowland. No way. Optician appointments need to be made. That man is the spitting image of Robert Lee Oswald.

I'm with you on this one, Lee. That's gotta be Robert Oswald or his twin.
When was the picture supposed to have been taken?

Very interesting - he's obviously being led away by the arm - who is the guy in some sort of uniform leading him away? Which agency is that uniform from? Can I just see the beginning of "Sheriff" on the shoulder badge?Lee Farley wrote:James Richards has today posted this photograph over at the Education Forum:

Martin/Albert,
The photograph is from the City of Dallas Archives:
http://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth184838/
The photograph is described as 'An unidentified witness speaking with law enforcement' when it is quite obvious the witness is being detained in some way. It is a member of the Dallas County Sheriff's Office that is escorting him and the photograph was taken by William Allen the afternoon of the assassination.
If that isn't Robert Lee Oswald I will eat the undies I nearly soiled when I first saw it. That is him.
The question for me is why, how, when was he at the Texas School Book Depository? The two Oswald theory just got a little bit more interesting only it could be renamed Robert & Lee. I'm convinced that in the 1980's or 1990's either William Weston or Jerry Rose speculated that the lookalike working at the TSBD was either Robert Oswald or Michael Paine. I forget the details but I have a memory that this was put forth as a theory. I'm sure it was dismissed at the time as being somewhat far fetched but there is nothing in the record that I have ever come across that even hints that Robert Oswald was ever near the TSBD at any point over Friday, Saturday or Sunday but we now have a photo and well...
...there he is. I am 99.999% convinced that is him.

Incredible, Lee. Curiouser and curiouser. The photo has been in the Times Herald's possession all these years?

So could the white shirt be significant? (I haven't read the EF comments yet).

It's certainly, absolutely, categorically not Arnold Rowland as per some of the guesswork over on the EF:

Ronald Fischer described the sixth floor gunman as 22 to 24 years old, wearing “an open-neck shirt, but it-uh--could have been a sport shirt or a T-shirt. It was light in color; probably white, I couldn't tell whether it had long sleeves or whether it was a short-sleeved shirt, but it was open-neck and light in color.” (6H194) Carolyn Walther said "the man was wearing a white shirt". (24H522) Arnold Rowland said "He had on a light shirt, a very light-colored shirt, white or light blue or a color such as that." (2H170) Robert Edwards said he was wearing "Light colored shirt, short sleeve and open neck." (6H204) And Howard Brennan said the gunman was dressed in "Light-colored clothes, more of a khaki color." (3H145) So there is total agreement among the witnesses that the sniper on the sixth floor was wearing a white or very light-coloured shirt, open-neck, and probably short- sleeved.

I must say, this picture is really blowing my mind. I NEED to know more. Precisely what time was it taken? Is it definitely from November 22?

I think where I'm at is this; if that isn't Robert Oswald or some sort of clone then I really do not know what else to say.
Robert Oswald is as complex a character as his brother was. We just know more about his brother. Very quick to condemn him wasn't he? Still condemns him to this day. If Lee Oswald was my brother and I had been exposed to some of the stuff that has been discovered over the last 50 years, and you can bet your bottom dollar that I would have made sure I exposed myself to it, then I'd be out every single day fighting for Justice for him.
Alas, Robert decided that the Warren Commission nailed it when it nailed his brother to the wall and his involvement in some of the evidence discoveries needs to be reevaluated.

The caption accompanying the photograph says:
"Original black and white photographic negative taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer William Allen Friday afternoon after the assassination. This image shows an unidentified witness speaking with law enforcement in front of the Texas School Book Depository."
The original is now held at the Sixth Floor Museum.

BOGGS: Have you in your own mind reached any conclusions on whether or not your brother killed President Kennedy?Lee Farley wrote:I think where I'm at is this; if that isn't Robert Oswald or some sort of clone then I really do not know what else to say.

OSWALD: Based on the circumstantial evidence that has been reported in newspapers and over the radio and television, I would have to say that it appears that he did kill President Kennedy.
BOGGS: Would you, having reached that conclusion under the circumstances that you outlined a moment ago, and having known him all of his life, although not too intimately the last year of his life, would you give us any reason for why he may have done this?
OSWALD: No, sir: I could not.
BOGGS: It came as, I would think, a great shock to you?
OSWALD: Yes, sir; it certainly did, and I might add that the Lee Harvey Oswald that I knew would not have killed anybody. (1H314)
Interestingly, Robert apparently said he was immediately suspicious of the Paine's...

On October 30, 1978, Mike Ewing held a telephone interview with Marguerite Oswald. Ewing was a HSCA investigator.
Towards the end of the interview (which lasted for 55 minutes) this happened:
Mrs. Oswald then stated that "you are not interested in the most important people." By this and her following comments I had the impression that she was speaking of a power which included the CIA but was even more powerful. She stated that "The CIA is only a part of it all. My whole family was taken over. I will tell you that for the record." She stated that the "minds" of the members of her family have been taken over by "an incredible force." She further stated that "I was taken over even before the assassination. Even before they got Lee." She would not state when she thought this had occurred.
I know Greg looks at the above quote slightly differently because of a particular book that Marguerite had read prior to making the above comments but in light of recent developments we perhaps need to look beyond Marguerite's words and begin to understand her entire family more and not just focus upon Lee. Strange how photographs of Edward John Pic are a little hard to come by.

Have a read of the following staff memo from February 24, 1964, and digest it. This dinner date that Robert Oswald had with the one and only Allen Dulles took place smack bang in the middle of Robert's WC testimony. His testimony was taken on February 20, 21, 22 and his evening out with the Prince of Spies was on the evening of Friday February 21st:

Did any other Warren Commission witnesses go out for dinner with Allen Dulles before giving testimony?

None that I'm aware of.
