according to CIA heavyweight Arnold Silver the HQ case officer of that operation (ST/ESCALADE) was a certain Bill Harvey....Silver got to hear about the operation and asked how many times Christ and his team had been through Havana Airport,Harvey replied "about six times", in that case Silver told Harvey pull the operation,those men are under surveillence,Cuban G2 work under KGB rules.....Harvey did not take the advice and the men were arrested....much angst at CIA HQ because the Central Cover Division only provided "light cover" for the operatives....however the light cover held up and they served just a few years in jail before being released.......can you imagine,Castro had in his hands one of CIA's top technical guys and never knew it.
