The Fritz Prisoner Transfer Plan

on Wed 13 Mar 2013, 5:33 pm
"I instructed James R Leavelle to handcuff his left hand to the prisoner's right hand. The prisoner was already handcuffed. I instructed LC Graves to walk to his left and LD Montgomery directly behind him, and I told them I would walk directly in front of the prisoner out of the door to the car."

If Fritz does not break formation, Oswald probably makes it to trial.

I see it's been blithely ignored and it's now moved on to when the original transfer was supposed to take place. Fritz' memo covers that.

Box 2 folder one:
Reporttyped, by J. W. Fritz. Report concerning officer's assignments relating to the transfer of Lee Harvey Oswald, (Photocopy), date unknown. 00000652 3 pages 02 09 008 0652-001.gif 0652-002.gif 0652-003.gif

I found this link from MFF, originally posted by Steve Thomas, at the Lancer forum in 2007

Gold! Well to me it is.

FBI interview of 23-year former Dallas attorney Travis Kirk both in the prosecutor's office as well as a defense attorney:

"...it is entirely possible and probable that Fritz had deliberately arranged to have Oswald shot in order to closethe case."
He had nothing specific to go by, but "based his opinionssolely on his knowledge of the methods used by Mr. Fritz."

That is gold Barto. This is a certified expert having absolute inside knowledge  and practical insight of the true nature of the DPD at that time. He worked both sides of the fence and worked there for 23 years! It was fucking staring everyone square in their faces. The fact that the streetwise FBI with inside knowledge of their own was acting like it wasn't obvious what Fritz had done, clearly communicated to all concerned that Fritz's move was being endorsed by them. It was therefore the job of all investigators involved to follow cues, not clues. If they didn't, Fritz gave them the bum's rush out of it and the FBI didn't stop him.

Yes Jake, the best thing is that this is one of the few instances this MO by Fritz made it on to paper.

Travis Kirk ran for County Criminal Court Judge twice. Once in '46 and again in '58. Here are newspaper accounts:

Note above that Henry Wade was also running per this June 26, 1946 announcement in The Mesquite Mesquiter newspaper.

This ran repeatedly in a number of different papers over the course of that summer:

On the Ides of March the Mesquiter spelled out the candidate's platform:

He ran on wanting to administer laws fairly without discrimination as to race, color, or creed. Not one of the good ol' boys was he. Yet he was a Mason. Interesting person.

Henry Wade again in the above June 28, 1946 Mesquiter article.

Below is from the '58 campaign. He looks kind of swarthy. Does not look like your typical Dallas politician the way the other guy does. Apparently he didn't win his elections either. Probably too honest and fair.

Gotta believe that letter Lance posted on EF was typed while drunk, even if it's authentic at all. He did write that he had had drinks that day. I consider him to be totally credible in his statements included in the FBI report posted by Barto. Great find by Barto.

Recall that Hoover told Johnson that weekend that the case against Oswald was not very very strong. He was telling the truth.
There was no way that they could allow this genie to escape from the bottle. For them, that would've been like opening Pandora's box.

Spot on Greg,

Fritz was left to handle the transfer. And what a fine job he did. Meanwhile Curry somewhere upstairs was on the phone to Decker. The biggest transfer of a prisoner in their history and the Chief is off yapping on the phone.

Fritz did break the circle and moved forward, Why?

I think you've already answered that.

Wade recalled that he was phoned from Johnson's office 3 times Friday evening by Cliff Carter. He remembers that the directions from Johnson's office were very clear. He was to charge the man they had in custody with both murders with no sign of confederates. One man for the two murders. That was the MO.

Fritz and Wade obliged.

That's more than Gold, It's priceless! Great find. Now ask yourself one question.
Why the hell did Fritz break formation and leave his vulnerable suspect exposed to an assassins bullet.

Take your time, watch the footage of the basement transfer all you want. At the exact moment, at the precise time Fritz moves
forward and leaves Oswald totally exposed. Ruby moves in.

I've spent months studying Fritz, Wade and Decker along with Curry. Fritz was as dirty as they come....had been for over 2 decades and in the same job.

Travis Kirk is only stating the bleeding obvious as it would've appeared to him circa 1963. Did Fritz act alone, most probably not.
It maybe Fritz was asked to accomodate such an event.

Thanks for posting Barto

Re: The Fritz Prisoner Transfer Plan

Fritz’s behaviour in that clip is highly suspicious.

As well as the fact that he breaks the formation necessary for Oswald’s protection, there’s the movement of his left hand. It may be an unconscious or semiconscious movement/gesture, but it looks as if he’s giving the go-ahead for Ruby to make his move.

He might as well be a traffic policeman directing traffic in the way he appears to be signalling to Ruby to attack Oswald.

It’s also striking how studiously he keeps looking in the other direction as Ruby makes his lunge towards Oswald. Fritz’s behaviour in that regard looks very unnatural.

Ostensibly Fritz is concentrating on the approaching police car, though it’s not clear why that should require such a high degree of concentration. If he was really that conscientious, he would remain vigilant regarding his first priority, the protection of Oswald. In that context, his purported concentration on the police car seems like a misdirection.

There’s nothing about the police car that should require his abandoning his duty of care to Oswald. And there’s nothing about it that explains why the sudden and purportedly unexpected lunge by Ruby in Fritz’s and Oswald’s direction doesn’t attract Fritz’s attention out of the corner of his eye. Fritz studiously ignores Ruby’s attack until it’s too late.

But, of course, police cars are such fascinating objects to those not used to them.
