Harvey - Lee Harvey Oswald's Cold War, by Greg Parker - Page 2 Empty Lee Harvey Oswald's Cold War

First topic message reminder :

LHOCW is in the top 100 (#65 right now) Kindle books in the category of US 20th Century History. There are around 6100 in this category.

It doesn't translate into significant sales numbers - you have to break into the top 500 overall for that - but it is still a pretty good effort for a first time author published by a very small boutique publisher in the Ozzie bush.

So with that, I thank each and every one who has bought a copy and/or helped promote it. A great effort!

Greatly appreciate the offers, guys. It's sometimes hard to spot the typos and other problems when you're too close.

I will make every effort to limit the errors to such a degree that they can all be corrected during a single bungee jump.

Okay -- having taken some liberties in saying the guy was probably a pretend doctor with a real degree (i.e. an osteopath), I thought I better check.

He's a Texan dentist (and possibly a lay preacher).

I don't mind that he thought the book sucked, but he could have at least said why so people can make their own judgments on what he didn't like. If he'd done that, I'd have offered to pay back his money. Now I have two one star ratings dragging down sales and the other one didn't even read the fricken book. Amazon should take down "reviews" which are not reviews at all.

A "Texan dentist" hm?? That sucks on multiple levels.

Amazon calls them "reviews" but most often what I see are "comments". Seems the average Amazon customer does not know what the word "review" means.

That said, I thought they restricted the capability to comment only on "verified purchases". Seems that idea went out with the dodo.

Yet another reference to LHOCW by Phil Dragoo:

In Greg Parker's Lee Harvey Oswald's Cold War we see the assassination of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, on April 9th, 1948 during the 9th Pan-American Conference, a meeting led by U.S. Secretary of State George Marshall.

A hypnotized patsy used twenty years before the Ambassador pantry.

And in '43 Allen was in Switzerland at Donovan's behest caching sniper rifles and silencers--twenty years before Dallas.

Marshall had found Patton inconvenient and in December 1945 the man who would finish the Cold War died after his car was rammed by a US Army truck.

Old dogs, old tricks.

Dragoo, that's a funny name.

Marshall had found Patton inconvenient and in December 1945 the man who would finish the Cold War died after his car was rammed by a US Army truck.

Old dogs, old tricks.
A little too John Birch Society for my taste, and too Nixon Administration dreamy about What Would Patton Do? (after the movie presented the idea that Patton was "the man who would finish the Cold War," and in a virile and manly sorta way)

But to each his own I guess. Where would we be without all the bullshit dreams stuffed in our heads from the upper-class geniuses out in Hollywood land?

He may have meant the CIA has been built up as a bogey-man, as in the theodicy of the right-wing extremist fringe; thus, it may be the latter who are in charge of the apparent research effort. That would help explain the degree of bigotry and psychopathology one finds there."          (from "Master Jasper's Commentary on Master Reggie's Commentary on the Pogo koan" in Rappin' wit' Master Jasper, 1972, p. 14, all rights reversed)
