Than the elected overlords who stopped serving your needs

Plenty of time, you thought, and turned back to the funny papers
Nestling deep in the couch cushions like a moldy sack of potaters.

When Lady Luck has disappeared and you really want to hit her
For dropping all the pretense upon your aching head
Revealing the open road you saw as another end that's dead.

And all the roads you chose were only paved in glitter
The stuff you cannot eat and worth nothing to the ounce
Regardless of the analysts who claimed it was time to pounce.
