Willem Oltmans was getting to close to the real truth !!!!!
Sun 14 Sep 2014, 11:33 pm
In Willem Oltmans private hand written notes we came across a very interesting incident that happened in May of 1968. Oltmans recorded that he met with Robin Moore an American writer in a small out of the way bar on Third Avenue in Manhattan. After a cordial greeting Moore introduces Oltmans to an associate by the name of Glenn Bryan Smith. With close cropped hair and dark sunglasses Oltmans tells how Smith looks and fits as a secret agent of some type.Presenting Oltmans with a business card showing he was an attorney at law with a listed address in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Both Smith and Moore would tell Oltmans of there ongoing investigation into the John F. Kennedy assassination. The meeting proved to be pleasant but somewhat strange and unusual .The Fort Lauderdale attorney seemed to be fishing for any and all of what Oltmans investigation had uncovered. The short meeting ended with the ideal of the men meeting at a later date to compare both investigations.
What had started as a meeting to compare both sides findings had now turned into only what we had to show Oltmans recorded. Jumping to his feet and within inches of Oltmans face Smith warns “"it's time for you to stop your investigation Willem"” and with a cold calculated stair Smith says “you wouldn't want to be picked up on the streets of New York and hustled into a car and then driven to a private airport and flown miles out over the Atlantic Ocean and then pushed out would you”? You would not be the first one to die prematurely being involved in the Kennedy case.
The meeting that was to compare investigations was in reality nothing but to intimidate and threaten. Later that day looking into Glen Bryan Smith would come up empty. There was no Attorney by that name in Fort Lauderdale Florida and the address proved fictitious also. Glen Bryan Smith was never to be heard from again.
Later in the summer of 1968 Oltmans received a letter from Glenn Bryan Smith which asked for a meeting in Utrecht The Netherlands. A meeting was arranged at the Hotel Terminus in Utrecht. Included in the meeting would be Carl Enkelaar head of NOS Television. Oltmans recorded that from the first moments that he and Enkelaar entered the hotel room Glen Bryan Smith was acting in a very strange and suspicious manner. Smith asked to see any and all information we had collected concerning the Kennedy assassination and what we had learned concerning George de Mohrenschildt's involvement .

Picking up his already packed bag Glen Bryan Smith without saying another word turns and walks out the door. Sitting stunned and speechless Oltmans and Enkelaar realize he has just been threatened .

I'm afraid the attorney did indeed exist - though his first name appears to have been spelled with two "n"s, not one.

Hello Greg...I must say that appears to possible the same fellow Oltmans met.Of course were not sure of that .But I am sure what we found in Oltmans notes and Oltmans claimed that very evening after the intimidation and threat they could find no one listed there by that name .

it is certainly possible that someone else "borrowed" this guy's name... but the point I was making was really that Oltman's claimed the following:
Later that day looking into Glen Bryan Smith would come up empty. There was no Attorney by that name in Fort Lauderdale Florida and the address proved fictitious also. Glen Bryan Smith was never to be heard from again.
That paints him as a rather poor investigative journalist because even if someone else was using this guys name and pretending to be him... it would not have been difficult to find this guy and determine if it was the same guy or not.
Smith was still alive as of last year which means it may still be possible to interview him:

Well said Greg...It also must be remembered it was 1968 and the back ground check was done from The Netherlands searching in the United States. There were no computers or what we have in today's world were we can find and locate anyone any where for a $35 fee. As far as Oltmans being a top notch investigative journalist. From our study and research of his personal archives I would have to say he was at the time as good a journalist as any in those days. You must remember Oltmans got a really bad rap from the American main stream media. Oltmans told in his notes of the vindictive methods of the American journalist who were jealous that he had been able to get the inside story to the closest person to Lee Harvey Oswald before President Kennedy's assassination. And it's well documented that the CIA felt threatened by Oltmans investigation and torpedoed him in an all out dis crediting smear. In Oltmans notes we found one that told of what Jim Garrison had told Oltmans . Garrison said if you try to bring your findings out and show that George de Mohrenschildt was involved ,the media and the powers will chew you up and spit you out. They will discredit you and not only that they will invade your personal life and try to ruin you. And in the end Garrison hit the nail right on head and that's just what happened. Just weeks before Oltmans died he made sure his files and records and notes would be preserved and secure. Oltmans said he just hoped one day someone would come along and take a second look at his findings. And that is just what we have done "Walking The Razor's Edge" The Willem Oltmans and George de Mohrenschildt Story is that second look.
