Funny you should mention Ferrie. If I’m not mistaken, there could be yet another instance of the avatar/doppelganger phenomenon in this case, this time in Nawleens:

(Believe it or not, I sort of know this character.)

You don't know Dessie!
Too much beer spoiled the act. Or as Rod sang it so well, 'What made Milwaukee famous, made a loser out of me' - a reference to Rod's potential soccer career perhaps, which he said he gave up because of the drink.

I take it he works as a Rod impersonator in a tribute show? He has obviously tried to get the look right - the hair, the clothes - but as some pointed out, Rod is a lot older, has a prominent mole on his cheek, has a longer face and being a Scot, probably charges like a wounded bull to be photographed with fans.Goban Saor wrote:You don't know Dessie!

No, he’s not a Rod tribute show performer. He’s a former athlete turned school guidance counsellor of all things. He’s a friend of a friend who was also an athlete and the stories of the antics they got up to in their nonage are hilarious.
All totally irrelevant to things JFK I know. Just some light relief I suppose. But it was only yesterday I was told about that web thread on Dessie and I actually think he looks as much like David Ferrie in that photo on the web as Rod Stewart.
By the way, thanks to the tip from Steely Dan, I’m reading your book on Oswald at last. I’m about half ways through it. Great stuff! I expect to be posting a rave review on Amazon as soon as I’m finished it.

Thanks Goban. Deeply appreciated. Lots of new stuff in the upcoming volume (but this time on more familiar themes and subjects...)Goban Saor wrote:No, he’s not a Rod tribute show performer.
