Ted Slack

I have recently been reading up on this Ted Slack character. He has been described as a “former ONI reserve commander” and a “Naval intelligence officer” who was allegedly Loran Hall’s “Cuban training instructor.”

Most of us here probably know that Hall was involved in anti-Castro activities and was a part of Gerry Patrick Hemming’s INTERPEN group. This is what Hemming had to say about Slack at the Ed forum:
“Ted Slack was a Miami businessman [insurance/real estate] who belonged to a local chapter of the John Birch Society. Ted, like many of the other ‘Birchers’, wanted to assist in the anti-Castro fight; but, they never really figured out how to do that. We refused any type of cash funding, as that would draw too much attention from Fidel's agents, especially those who were on the FBI & US Customs Service payrolls as informants!!”

I don’t put much faith in anything Hemming had to say. IIRC, he once claimed that he told Oswald to take “his” rifle to the TSBD on the morning of the assassination; which is utter horseshit. It’s possible Hemming said what he did about Slack because he suspected Slack of being involved in the assassination. This may also be the reason why Loran Hall claimed that he didn’t “think” he knew Slack:

I should add that I suspect Ted Slack might have been an alias.
