DALLAS, April 4 (UPI)—Police Chief Jesse Curry and Homicide Capt. Will Fritz said today they had proof that Lee Harvey Oswald had assassinated President Kennedy but that the Warren Commission would not let them make it public.
They said nationally circulated magazines were questioning Oswald's guilt.

Chief Curry and Captain Fritz made the statements to The Dallas Morning News.

“I deplore the misinformation and insinuations that are being published,” District Attorney Henry Wade said. He said the Warren Commission investigating the assassination had denied police evidence even to him.
Chief Curry and Captain Fritz would not say who ordered them to keep the evidence secret but said they were convinced the orders had weight

Anybody here have any idea of what evidence they are talking about?

Curry was using this strategy on Saturday 23rd November - they all were - it continued for years.

He was also trying to sell a bridge in Brooklyn at the time.

In a telephone conversation between J. Edgar Hoover and LBJ a day after the assassination, Hoover said "The evidence that they have at the present time is not very very strong." He sure didn't get that from the intrepid Fritz the Cat who had already declared the case cinched.
 
Speaking of the lawless blowhard, a month after the assassination, Fritz doesn't even have the basic "approved" facts of the "cinched" case straight:
 

 
Curry went from stressing the immediate nature of Oswald's departure from the TSBD to telling reporters he was seen sitting in the lunchroom amongst other persons. All over the map. Years later, Curry wasn't sure it all.
