Note that just before the spaces for Officers to write their names, it asks to "check all items which apply"
The items are: "drunk" "drinking" "cursed" "resisted" "fought".
None of those are marked.
Possibly just a poorly or hastily written report - but then, McDonald also told the media that Oswald was "calm" and gave no trouble...

Watching "Capturing Oswald" during the 50th media blitz, Jim Leavealle claimed Oswald "was clearly enjoying the limelight". A large sellar of salt is needed with anything that the DPD state regarding Oswald.

Agreed - but the absence of a simple tick on a form regarding "resisting" I still think may be telling.

Hi Greg - why do you think that? (I'm just curious). Is it not equally likely that the DPD was being "less than entirely diligent" in a high-pressure situation where time was short and paperwork deadlines tight? My take on the DPD so far is that they were a buncha complete slackers! (Either that, or they were so entirely corrupt that they were practically "all in it together" - which doesn't seem likely at this point).
But, the degree of "inattention to important tradecraft" (like the chain of custody being the most important piece of that) is truly astounding in the DPD part of this story. People "forget" or "can't tell" whether it's actually their mark on evidence, y'know.... or "don't want to tell", which is even worse.
Do you have a reason to believe that the ticks were omitted "for a reason"?

Brian, other paperwork that day was completed fully. Additionally, arresting officer Nick "Fat Boy Slim" McDonald told the media Oswald had been calm and gave no trouble.nonsqtr wrote:greg parker wrote:Agreed - but the absence of a simple tick on a form regarding "resisting" I still think may be telling.

Also - Oswald clearly yelled out "I am not resisting arrest" as he was being pummeled.
Yet officially, he not only fought them like a caged lion, he was going to try and shoot his way out. Against 6 to 8 cops with hand and shot guns.
The chain of custody situation tells a different story to mere incompetence.

Greg, are you suggesting that 8 cops and Brewer and Applin changed their stories before it came time to testify?
I'll stipulate that the testimony is a mess, and I'll even stipulate that McDonald is somehow lying or corrupt - but all eight of 'em?
It IS interesting the pattern of movement of these cops, that's for sure. They had all kinds of cops on duty that day, and yet the same names keep appearing in all the right places.

Where are all the names of the other potential witnesses in that theater they supposedly collected?

And how did an experienced news cameraman take film of the arrest that is not actually viewable because he allegedly screwed up on his most important ever assignment?
