The FPCC was also in The Minutemen's crosshairs
Mon 19 Sep 2022, 1:14 pm
Recently I ran across the August 1, 1963 issue of On Target, the publication of American paramilitary anticommunist group The Minutemen. They single out the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, specifically Robert Taber and V.T. Lee, and mention the cities of Tampa and Chicago where known aborted plots against JFK occurred.
This is interesting in the context of Guy Banister and his motivations; he not only worked for ONI and contributed information to other alphabet agencies, I've read that he was the head of The Minutemen in Louisiana.
It's enough to make one wonder: if Oswald was ostensibly working for Banister in his FPCC shenanigans (regardless of whether or not Oswald was also informing on him), could that have been a Minuteman operation rather than a CIA, FBI, ONI, or Army Intelligence, etc. operation?
This might explain Oswald's interest in participating in it: gathering intelligence on the far right in New Orleans.
Food for thought.

Just looking at that John Rossen document you found, Greg, my first reaction is being bowled over by the sheer number of informants listed in it: T-1, T-2, T-24...
Not only was he on the Security Index, he was awash by a tidal wave of informants.

Yeah, I concluded long ago that there were more informants on the trip to Cuba than there were bona fide pro-Castro agitators.rogerhucek wrote:Just looking at that John Rossen document you found, Greg, my first reaction is being bowled over by the sheer number of informants listed in it: T-1, T-2, T-24...
