Richard, humor is entirely inappropriate. I almost pissed myself.

After all these years, I've finally heard a sensible explanation for JFK's back-and-to-the-left reaction to the (2nd) head shot. He was asking Jackie if she heard the echo, too- the one that shook dust off the leaves on the grassy knoll.
Anti-Castro pigeons, overheard in bars, saying, "Coup, coup"
Comedic genius mixes unspoken truth with precision timing.
Bill Hicks rest in peace.

In all seriousness, I know this is going to sound uber-conspiritorial and way out on the fringes, but I think there is a possibility he was murdered... but it all depends on what cancer he started with... wiki says it was liver that spread to the pancreas and other sites have it the other way...
if the latter (pancreatic cancer that spread to the liver) he was mightily unlucky because it is rare for someone in their 30's. Looking into this a few years back, it seemed that this most deadly of cancers was also likely the easiest (in theory) to weaponize.
Peter Andren may have had the same fate. He was an independent politician and the most honest and ethical in living memory. He held a huge majority in the federal seat of Calare and when they tried to stop him by redistributing the electoral boundaries, he announced he would quit federal politics and run for a state senate seat. Soon after making that announcement, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Hicks first noticed his symptoms while on tour in Australia.

Uber-conspiracy is right up my alley. Bill Hicks' possible murder makes sense, since generally pancreatic cancer doesn't manifest until one's late 40's or 50's, and usually related to longterm alcohol abuse. Hicks quit drinking early on in his career, I would guess by his early 20's.
Talking about the JFK assassination, which Hicks did very often in his routines, was verboten in American media of any sort,, before the days of the internet. It's one of four areas that any radio talk show host must squelch at once, otherwise his job & career are out the window. (That info is from Michael Savage, a brilliant host I used to listen to nightly in the early 2000s.) I would think that that censorship is a by-product of Operation Mockingbird.
I doubt we'll ever know, but Hicks wasn't going to shut up, he was tapping into gobs of personal power & the public's collective subconscious, and maybe someone decided he had to go. It's been known to happen.

"They hate you if you're clever..." Working Class Hero
He was TOO clever - TOO cutting - TOO accurate for his own good. And timing is everything. He had just made a pilot for a TV show which would have helped spread his messages even further.
All that said, there is no real evidence. Conjecture is all we have.
The same with Peter Andren. He was hated with a purple passion by the Robber Barons who usually run politics in this part of the country - their reign interrupted only by Andren - and his popularity and stranglehold on "their" turf only increased with every election - despite some of the dirtiest smear campaigns seen here ever. They could not get him voted out. So they changed his electoral boundaries to remove his support base. That only made him jump to a different arena to continue his battles. Then he died. A non smoker who by all accounts led a healthy lifestyle got the most deadly of cancers when it became obvious he was going to remain a thorn in their side as long as he lived.
