Rough Side of the Mountain
Thu 28 Nov 2013, 7:39 pm
Filmmaker Richard Cohen has put some clips from his unfinished film, Rough Side of the Mountain, on youtube.
Part 1 here:

It's great to actually see some of these Clinton/Jackson witnesses talking.

I saw this many years ago, right after JFK came out.
It is really something to see these simple people talk about this event.
Once you see them, for Lambert to propose that wild theory of hers, well I mean, give me a break.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it.
To suggest these people were involved in some kind of conspiracy, and were happy to participate in the wrongful conviction of an innocent man, is just...ridiculous.

I should add, from what I know, the film was never completed.
Which is really unfortunate. Because to my knowledge, its the only video recording of the Clinton/Jackson witnesses I have ever seen.

I just watched this last evening. I could only see five parts posted on YouTube. Is there any more than that?

As far as I know, Albert, that's all there is at the moment.

BTW, did you see Garrison on Carson. Someone pasted that on You Tube.
I am beginning to think that was a BS story about it being destroyed by fire.
Carson comes off pretty bad I think,

Yeah I saw that. I think it was actually posted by Carson's official youtube channel. So I'm betting they have the rest of the show.

Don't know if my reply here will get any visibility since no one has posted to this thread in a decade, but here goes:
I read something about this documentary, Rough Side of the Mountain. I'm very interested in seeing it. IMDB has a page for it, but no information. It's listed as an "unfinished film." The YT links in this old thread no longer work.
Anyone know where this film, whatever of it exists, can be viewed?

I got a quick reply from filmmaker Richard Cohen:
As the film's imdb page is dated 1999, well over two decades ago, I'm not sure how much faith I can put into its becoming available "in the near future." Here's hoping ...
Dear Aaron, Presently Rough Side of the Mountain (an unfinished film) is not available either on line or for sale. I expect that to change in the near future. I will add you to the mailing list or you can check back in the summer. How did you hear about the film? … Richard

I heard the same for years about Lifton's "upcoming" book, and ditto the files of Georgey Evica being put online.

I'd been wondering, since Lifton's death, about the status of the book he was supposedly about to release. Is it coming out? If not, does anyone have possession or rights to any research or materials?
