Earlene Roberts Empty Earlene Roberts

Sun 23 Feb 2014, 11:40 pm
In her affidavit of December 5th 1963, Earlene Roberts said that three DPD police officers arrived half an hour after Oswald left her rooming house. As Oswald left at 1.04 p.m., thus means that the police arrived sometime around 1.35/1.40 p.m.

Oswald's wallet wasn't found until 2.00p.m. in the car which returned him to Police H.Q.

How come the DPD arrived at Oswalds before they knew who he was?

Anybody know when Oswald's address was issued by the DPD?

Ray:

I have hypothesized the DPD may have gleaned the address from items in the wallet found at the Tippit scene containing both Oswald and Hidell identification.  If so, the timing would support Roberts' observation.  I should also add that both Arnold and Gladys Johnson, for whom Roberts worked, also claimed the police arrived within about a half hour of the news that Kennedy had died.

Unless there is reason to dismiss all three witnesses, I suggest they are correct due to the uniformity of their observation.

However, since a police car was seen by Roberts outside the rooming house shortly after Oswald arrived there, it's also entirely possible police knew about Oswald's residence even before the Tippit murder.  Either way, they possessed information about him and where he lived that they ought not to have, at a time too early to be rationalized by the official version of events.

Do we know the names of the three DPD officers who showed up at Earlene Roberts' place?

If the wallet hypothesis is correct, they should have come directly from the Tippit scene, yes?

Long time since I've looked at this and we all know about relying on memory - with that in mind, my memory is that 3 cops drove over there, but then claimed to have parked for x amount of time waiting for others (maybe with a search warrant)?

If the above is in any way close, could it be that the three made the story up about waiting in order to conceal just how quickly they got there?

I know I should check before posting, but no time right now.
