Kent Biffle

While working on my script, a thought occurred to me.
Fritz always received very favorable treatment from the Dallas Morning News (the paper Biffle worked for).
The official story is that Biffle was accidentally locked inside when the police locked the building down.
But was it really an accident? How convenient that Biffle was able to"eavesdrop" on Roy Truly advising Fritz that Oswald was missing...

I thought this too Greg. He was by all accounts a human-interest/colour feature writer for the DMN when he was working on the 22nd November 1963. He was initially assigned to present a colour piece on the President's Parade.
What is interesting though is that he allegedly tried to interview Oswald in 1959 when he worked for the Fort Worth Press.
While at the Press in 1959, Biffle nearly had a telephone interview with Lee Harvey Oswald. He used Marguerite Oswald to get her son on the telephone while he was exiled in Moscow. The story fell through when Oswald dropped the phone or hung up.
“I made the mistake of letting his mama talk to him,” Biffle said. “Her voice scared him off.”

Always need to have a third party witness to stitch it up tight.

. . . only two of us (reporters) had arrived at the ambush building (the Depository) by this point. . . . Getting in was no problem. I just hid my press badge . . . and went in with the first wave of cops. . . . Hours dragged by. The building superintendent showed up with some papers in his hand. I listened as he told detectives about Lee Oswald failing to show up at a roll call. My impression is that there was an earlier roll call that had been 30 inconclusive because several employees were missing. This time, however all were accounted for except Oswald. I jotted down the Oswald information. . . . Neither the police in the building nor the superintendent knew that Oswald already was under arrest.
What needs to be added is the fact that Charles Douglas Givens was also missing and so were several other employees from the publishing companies on the floors above.
