Anyone know of any "oswald" sightings in or around Californian universities or colleges at any time?

None that I'm aware of, Greg. Why do you ask?

Haven't been able to bring anything up in an initial search, Greg. I'll keep my eyes open.

That fount of only credible, verifiable evidence Gerry Hemming recounted having met LHO at the Cuban consulate in Los Angeles, but this must be taken with a Mack Truck of salt for obvious reasons.

The reason for my question can be found elsewhere on the site.

Sorry. Thought I'd posted something on it elsewhere. Losing the plot. Had THOUGHT about posting on it, but didn't actually do it.greg parker wrote:Thanks Robert. Yeah I don't believe it,either.

Will get to it. It involves Larry C. Have seen cases where people have been booted out of various gov/mil jobs as cover for other activities. I think that may have been the case with Larry.

I didn’t know where to put this, so I just thought I’d post it here. It concerns the allegations by a woman named Jean Dissman that she spoke to a man bearing a strong resemblance to Oswald at the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois.
She said that the man expressed an interest in any Cuban student or humanist organisations that might be active on Campus, and said that he represented an organisation with the title beginning with “Fair”, but didn’t, according to Dissman, contain the word “Cuba”. She said the visit occurred sometime between June 1 and September 15 of 1962. The man mentioned the Dallas- Fort worth area, and gave her his name beginning with an O and S, and she thought that his name was Osborn, but the man denied that it was Osborn. She was shown the photo of Oswald when he was arrested in New Orleans, and said that she would stake on her life that the man she conversed with was Oswald.
“Oswald” had told her that he was living in the Illini Union with his wife and baby, and that she checked out the guest records but couldn’t find the name Oswald amongst the guests. He had also allegedly asked her if she had seen his TV show, or whether she had seen him on TV in New Orleans.
I think it makes for a very interesting read.

She passed away in Feb this year. Husband Larry is still alive though.

She said the person had a mid-west accent and Larry was born in Michigan and seemed to spend a fair bit of time there, so the accent probably fits with Larry.

Thanks for that, Greg. I presume you mean Larry Crafard?

Oops. Yes. Crafard.
This actually fits a pattern (tho off the top I can only think of one more example, I believe there are others) of witnesses recalling encounters with "Oswald" and having "Oswald" recount personal history that hasn't actually happened yet. In fact, because of this, such encounters only make sense if you move the date of the encounter forward to a time AFTER the events described actually occurred. In this case, if you move the encounter forward one whole year to August or September, 1963, it becomes a little more plausible - and one wonders if the FBI didn't change the time frame or put pressure on the witness to change the time frame in order to undercut the value of the statement.

I think you make a very good point, Greg. I'm working on something which I will hopefully post in a couple of days.
