edwin ekdahl's height
Sat 20 Apr 2013, 8:46 pm
Armstrong claims claims Ekdahl was over 6' tall.
He was not, so the lack of a cite is unsurprising. His sole purpose of course, was to bolster his ludicrous claims about fake Marguerites.
Various documents such as passports and passenger lists record his height varying between 5' 10 1/2" and 5' 11".

Since the issue of 2 Marguerites has resurfaced at the Ed Forum, and crucial to that theory is Edwin Ekdahl's height as a way of gauging Marguerite's, I thought I would resurrect this thread.
Jimbo has even pulled John Pic's height estimate of "over 6'" for Ekdahl as a means of stretching poor ol' Maggie's height at the time of their wedding.
Naughty Jimbo. He knows about Ekdahl's documented height because I have told him about in in the past. Not sure, but I may have even posted the docs for him at the foo.
Anyhow, those arguing the "Jimbo, are you having a lend?" case have cottoned on to the fact that people shrink with age , and this is what we see in photos of Marguerite taken later in her life. In fact, females generally shrink more than males and may lose 1 1/2 to 2".
What they have failed to do is apply the same principle to Ekdahl. He was around 50 at the time of the wedding and in poor health. Even a healthy male can expect to shrink about half an inch between the ages of 40 and 50 and the same every decade thereafter.
So how that change things?
The heights given in the documents are from when EE was a young man.
So... in that photo we can say he was no shorter than about 5' 10" and no taller than about 5' 10 1/2".
Marguerite came in at 5' 2 1/2" in her dotage. Add on 1 1/2" for shrinkage and she is 5' 4".
Science wins again, just like it did against Armstrong's Magic Tonsils.
