ROKC ON!

It has been a rather trying time for some of us... well, me... but I think the changes in format here at ROKC looks fresh and updated.
Maybe I should look for an older picture of me for my profile... more in keeping with the fresh and new here.
I'm sure I must have some picture from late 1963.

I agree, Terry. And this friggin banner logo at the top is way cool. Congratulations to the designer.

Count me in as a fan of the changes. It's time to ROKC and Roll! I'm going to take the opposite approach that Terry's considering. My current profile pic is from 40 years ago. I think I'll put up a new from 1991 soon. Keep moving forward to catch up with the present. Slowly grow up. So maybe when I'm 70, you'll see me as I am. Then again, maybe not. I think Greg and the rest of the gang here will solve this thing by then and we'll all move on to happier pursuits.

OK. Instead of 1991, I'll go to 1954 and show my solidarity with the youth movement. For now.

When I first started this, it was my aim to make the need for it redundant. That's still the aim.Stan Dane wrote:Count me in as a fan of the changes. It's time to ROKC and Roll! And in this case, redundancy is a very noble aspiration.

Okay, found an older picture. It's actually a bit before 1963 but it has a little more of that wild-eyed innocence than my current...
Hold on...
Whadya mean it's not "wild-eyed"?
OIC
'Scuse me, that should read "wide-eyed innocence" I suppose...

This place looks fab. The silver and grey is very sleek and futuristic and the new logo is primo rad.
Tino pai!
edit: Tino Pai! Means very good in Maori.

Sorry, put up with it too long, without comment. The new format is awful.
(I know being an old arse I tend to be a bit conservative, but the shading makes it difficult to read. Perhaps a paler shade of grey, might improve it - One of the infamous fifty shades of grey?)

hmmmm, fifty shades of grey hardly sounds conservative of you Ray, but that's your own business

sorry for any difficulty you have in reading the forum. I've just checked and I can't change the shading. The only thing I can do is change the skin again. If others are having difficulty, please let me know. I'd rather not change because it brings other sets of problems, but I don't want to discourage reading and posting here, either.

I understand what Ray is saying. At first, I found the text a little harder to read as the gray darkens, but then I got used to it and don't even think about it now. I do have a large, very bright monitor, so that probably helps some. Other eyes, other monitors might be a different story.
Every change has some trade-offs. Overall, I like it the way it is now. Very non-standaloneish.
