Dudley Lee Ferrell

Another thread of mine from the Webs' ROKC forum:
Dudley Lee Ferrell was a supervisor at the main post office in Dallas, Texas, who was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. When Ferrell was interviewed by the FBI in early December, 1963, it was noted that he bore a “marked resemblance to Oswald.”

Ferrell was one of the Oswald lookalikes the Warren Commission asked the FBI to “investigate.” The WC asked the FBI to provide photographs of Ferrell; including a “personal history” and (amongst other things) a “general account” of his activities and whereabouts between September 26, 1963, and January 1, 1964:

Researcher Carol Hewett wrote about Ferrell to the ARRB in October, 1994:
http://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=145534&search=Dudley_Lee+Ferrell#relPageId=43&tab=page
Contrary to Hewett’s claim that Ferrell died “prematurely” on June 24, 1978, Ferrell’s obituary in the Dallas Morning News states that he died in August, 2008:

As a matter of fact, according to the following, it was Ferrell’s mother (Mary Elizabeth Ferrell) who died on June 24, 1978:

Therefore, it seems that Hewett had confused the death of Ferrell’s mother with his own. As we can see, in her letter to the ARRB, Hewett more or less suggested that Dudley Ferrell and “George Ferrell” (one of John Thomas Masen’s “cohorts”) may have been the same person. At first I thought Hewett could be right. However, after reading the following article by Mark Bridger, I am certain that the “George Ferrell” Hewett was referring to was in fact Cuban exile Fermin de Goicochea Sanchez; who used the name “George Perrel” (not “Ferrell”) as an alias. Keep in mind that in her letter to the ARRB, Hewett claimed that John Masen told the ATF that George Ferrell was the alias of a “local Cuban.”

Even though Dudley Ferrell and “George Perrel” were not the same person, I think it is nevertheless worth keeping in mind that Dudley Ferrell was an Oswald lookalike who worked at the main post office in Dallas. He may have been used to impersonate Oswald, and may have been involved in the manipulation of evidence such as the so-called money order Oswald allegedly used to buy the MC rifle. The reason I mentioned at the start of this thread that Ferrell was born in Shreveport, L. A., is because this was the home town of a certain floor layer named Hebert Lee who lived at the 1026 North Beckley rooming house; and who may have been involved in both Tippit’s murder and the assassination.
