I wonder why did he stop researching PM.

I'm guessing because it was of secondary importance to him. His main aim in posting was in pushing information he claimed was coming direct from a DPD sergeant who wanted to remain anonymous but had contact him (Charles) privately. The gist of it was that a DPD officer was the shooter. 

For that to take precedence over PM indicates the anonymous informant was very convincing and/or that Charles' thought processes and priorities were somewhat skewed.

I believe the Weigman film (a frame of which is shown on page 373 of
POTP) probably shows Oswald standing in the middle on the top landing
near the entrance of the TSBD at the time of the shots. Lovelady
appears to be the balding guy on the right hand side of the steps.  I
realize Oswald could have been holding hands with Truly and it would
not have altered your conclusions. Anyway, I think Oswald took the
front stairs right after the shots walking calmly to the second floor
lunch room to get a coke.  Baker and Truly running to the rear of the
first floor and then up the stairs matches Oswald's timing on just
going in the lunchroom when they were all at the same vicinity at the
same time.  The real TSBD shooter is still on the sixth floor awaiting
the proper time to leave.  Think about it. If you are running out of a
building dressed in a policeman's uniform right afterwards, you'll be
seen and remembered. But if you wait until a number of policemen go in
and you walk out afterwards, no one will notice or remember you.
