Evolution of Oswald-police officer encounter from the first to the second floor
 
Note: Rather than building this and posting it all at once, I plan to put it out in installments over the coming days. Refer to the "Location of Oswald at the Time of the Assassination" thread for early evidence that places Oswald on the first floor.
 
The first reference to a second floor lunchroom incident does not come until the evening of November 22 when Roy Truly is interviewed by the FBI. This interview takes place as a result of Oswald’s first interrogation which concluded earlier. We know this because Truly is asked to answer a disturbing allegation which Oswald has made:

Mr. TRULY advised that it is possible OSWALD did see him with a rifle in his hands within the past few days, as a Mr. WARREN CASTER, employed by Southwestern Publishing Co., which company has an office in the same building, had come to his office with two rifles, one a .22 rifle which CASTER said he had purchased for his son and the other a larger more high powered rifle which CASTER said he had purchased with which to go deer hunting, if he got a chance. Mr. TRULY examined the high powered rifle and raised it to his shoulder and sited [sic] over it, then returned it to CASTER, and CASTER left with both rifles. Mr. TRULY stated he does not own a rifle and has had no other rifle in his hands or in his possession in a long period of time.

 
Truly’s story was investigated and found to check out, but the rifle incident was not the only occasion for his name to come up in Oswald’s interrogation. Oswald had also evidently mentioned an incident involving Truly and a police officer. The same report provides Truly’s response to that claim:

He then noticed a Dallas City Police officer wearing a motorcycle helmet and boots running toward the entrance of the depository building and he accompanied the officer into the front of the building. They saw no one there and he accompanied the officer immediately up the stairs to the second floor of the building, where the officer noticed a door and stepped through the door, gun in hand, and observed OSWALD in a snack bar there, apparently alone. This snack bar has no windows or doors facing the outside of the building, but is located almost in the center of the building. The officer pointed to OSWALD and asked if OSWALD was an employee of the company and he, TRULY, assured the officer that OSWALD was an employee. He and the officer then proceeded onto the roof of the building....

 
The above text constitutes the earliest reference to a Second Floor lunchroom incident. And it contains five words which, however seemingly innocuous, could be of explosive significance:
 
…he accompanied the officer into the front of the building. They saw no one there and he accompanied the officer immediately up the stairs to the second floor of the building…
 
From the book:

Stan Dane, Prayer Man: Out of the Shadows and Into the Light wrote:
"They saw no one there." The fact that Truly is even pointing out this gratuitous fact can only indicate one thing: that he has been confronted with Oswald’s claim that it was precisely "there," inside the front of the building on the First Floor, that the officer and Truly met him. Truly’s disclaimer draws ironic attention to what it is he is disclaiming, said Sean.
 
Whether Truly fed the FBI the Second Floor lunchroom version of events, or whether it was the FBI who helped him get it straight, the upshot is the same: the lunchroom story appears to be a fabrication, a fiction designed for the sole purpose of eliminating Oswald’s all too real alibi for the President’s murder.

Well, I'm off and running. Very rough around the edges but I'll try to improve each time. I learned about 12 new things today about doing this. Have at least 200 more to go. But at least I'm moving. The real acid test will be an elderly family member who is having a hard time understanding my book. If she understands this subject when the series is done, I'll know it wasn't a waste of time. I'll try to put out one or two a week over the next couple of months. 

Nice Job again, Stan. Looking forward to seeing the results with your relative - a litmus test of sorts as to how it might reach more people outside the "community".

Thanks, Greg. I don't know if it will move the needle in the final analysis, but I am having fun doing this. I am learning as I go, literally. Since there will be a lot of documents/news reports/text to cover from here on out, the challenge will be to keep the videos short and sweet, interesting and lively. I'll try to be as creative as possible.

I made a YouTube Playlist for my First to Second video series. If you are interested, you may go there periodically to see what's up. Put a new one up today. I won't be posting the videos individually anymore. After I finish the series I'll be moving on to other things.
 

I've now completed 14 videos with 2-3 more to go. The focused effort on this has helped me better solidify in my mind the salient facts and details associated with the second floor lunchroom "Operation Patsy" frame-up. In that sense alone, the project has been a worthwhile exercise for me. And my elderly relative (elderly with a capital "E") who has struggled with my book now understands things better too. That was my acid test for this thing so I'll take it and run. She and a couple of others will probably be the only ones that ever watch the series, but what the hell, you do what you gotta do and don't look back.  
 
I learned a lot of new things about making videos in the process, which isn't saying much because two months ago I knew nothing. I had this old audio tape from 1954 of my father and his jazz band. Putting these JFK videos together gave me the skills to be able to dramatically clean up the audio and make a couple videos featuring his music on another channel of mine. My dad died before I ever got to know him as an adult, so this was so cool to make this tribute to him. In the process of doing this, I met a historian who's writing a book on the musical history in a region of the state where I grew up. Because of these videos, he's learned a lot more about my dad and he will include him in his book when it comes out, probably in a few years. I'll be spending much more of my time on these kinds of things after this year.

"Don't look back" indeed. We should all be doing what we can to promote these, but ultimately we can't dwell on the numbers seeing them.  It's now there to be found - that's what matters. And moving on is not a bad thing. It didn't hurt PM when Sean moved on. In fact you argue the whole deal grew immensely because others saw the merit and took up the challenge.

We're all links in a chain and we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. There will always be new people who come along who pick where we left off and run with it. The important thing is not that we always get to see the fruits of our labor, but that we embrace truth and let the chips fall where they may. It's like planting trees that you know you'll never sit under to the enjoy the shade. But your grand kids will.
 
Your personal legacy is that you are the chief architect of the case against the second floor lunchroom. Sean followed you. Without you guys, there is no Prayer Man book, no First to Second series. Thank you for your tenacity, perseverance and your unflinching high standards.
 
I've kind of done a 180 on self-promotion, probably because I suck at it so much. We don't need to promote these, just have them and other information available to people who seek it out. Besides, if anybody is really interested in graduate-level information on Prayer Man and the second floor lunchroom, Bart's websites are the place to go.

Great work in creating this series Stan. I really like how the lunchroom segments detail each successive next step in Oswald's lunch room evolution from one place to the other, then the other, then another, each with the contemporaneous reports that generated that latest incarnation. 

Hey, it's quantum Oswald. Each time he's detected by the Baker/Truly Oswald location detector, his quantum state collapses into his latest physical location according to the probabilities dictated by the spins imposed upon him at the time. Until he's detected, he can be anywhere, including of course, the front steps of the TSBD.

The latest video which covers Baker's Warren Commission testimony. The only thing left now is 1 or 2 more short videos to wrap up the series. This exercise has been useful and valuable to me—and at least one of my relatives (and she accounts for over 50% of the views!). I have really enjoyed putting it all together. Having said that, I'll keep my day job. Oh wait, I'm retired!
