They attempt to take the ship off course and eventually succeed!
Yet When the ship arrives and our Bele /Lokai depart at Cheron(facebook) their home planet, Spock's scans still can find no sign of intelligent life on the surface.
Too bad John Carpenter wasn't brought in to help.
