The comment follows:
Quoting from the story, Sirhan testified at his trial that he had killed Kennedy "with 20 years of malice aforethought"
The devil, as always, is in the detail. Sirhan never testified that he killed Kennedy "with 20 years of malice aforethought". He testified - under cross examination - that he SAID those words. That is no small difference. And there is a very clear context to his saying this. His attorneys wanted to bring to the witness stand, a young lady with whom Sirhan had been quite smitten. It was in desperation to PREVENT her being called, that he uttered those words to his own attorneys - out of earshot of the jury. Either Sirhan was being chivalrous in keeping this young lady out of the spotlight... or....?
I received the following reply, and reply to it here because for some reason, CNN site doesn't allow replies to replies.
two words for boneheaded conspiracy theorists......Shell Casings.
Yes. Those would be the same shell casings not marked for identification by the apparently bone-headed cop who found them.
# 2 - Next we move on to the Los Angeles County Grand Jury (6-7-68) where these eight expended shell casings were received in evidence as “Grand Jury Exhibit 7-A Envelope with 8 expended cartridges” at which time LAPD Officer Calkins testified to the following: “These cartridges were purposely not marked by myself in an effort to not contaminate them for possible fingerprint examination”
